4 About GEO History: GEO s origins date back to 2001, after a merger of the Northeast Ohio non-profit, SEED Ohio with the American Solar Energy Society s Ohio Chapter, Ohio Renewable Energy Organization (OREO). Mission: Green Energy Ohio (GEO) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting economically and environmentally sustainable energy policies and practices in Ohio.

5 About GEO Vision: In its 17th year, GEO conducts educational public outreach on all forms of renewable energy. GEO s cleanenergy expertise and experience also provides practical policy advice to private and public decision makers. Backed by solid community-based support, GEO mobilizes resources across Ohio with dozens of diverse partners joining together in groundbreaking renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

11 GEO Programs: Meet, Learn & Share First initiative: Meet, Learn and Share community events During the first three months of 2018 we traveled across Ohio to talk with GEO members and supporters of clean energy. We met in eight locations and spoke with over 125 people. Our hosts were local craft breweries, an industry on the cutting edge of sustainability and energy awareness. Many topics were addressed some surfaced in all the meetings, while others were unique to their regions. Participants gave us constructive feedback on past GEO activities and excellent guidance on future initiatives. We were inspired by their confidence in GEO s ability to play an important and unique role in Ohio s energy landscape.

14 GEO Programs: Growing Local Solar Presentations and panel discussions with policy, legal and business experts will cover a range of topics: Community choice aggregation Self-generation and net metering policies Commercial solar project interconnection standards Local tax incentives Land use and zoning considerations Neighborhood-based solar cooperatives Best practices for residential rooftop solar in historical districts Energy special improvement districts (esids) and Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing Community engagement best practices.

15 GEO Programs: Green Energy Ohio Tour 16 th Annual Tour In the past five years, the Tour has had an average of over 100 sites with at least one Tour site in 58 of Ohio s 88 counties. The sites include homes, businesses, public buildings, parks, and churches. On average, over 300 people view a range of technologies, including solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, and energy efficiency systems. Surveys have shown that participants came away with a greater knowledge of green energy opportunities and increased interest in pursuing some of the options. Green Energy Ohio Tour Website:

16 GEO Programs: Green Energy Ohio Tour New Features this year: Photo Contest: You can win prizes by submitting great photos from the tour! Tour Passports: Site owners will have stickers to confirm your visit, and those with the most site stickers at the end of the day will receive a prize! Featured Locations: There will be several featured locations throughout the state, where participants will have the opportunity to see a unique facility and hear from the individuals involved in its development and operation. Kick-off & Post-tour Events: Make a day of it! In certain locations we will have a kick-off event in the morning with refreshments and brief remarks from community leaders. At the end of the day there will be a chance to get together, socialize, and share impressions and ideas.

Reintegration Unit Certified ETA testing center 100% certification with an average test score of 85% Over 75 inmates currently in the program with a waiting list of over 100

18 GEO Programs: Policy GEO supports a collaborative policy process where all stakeholders share strategies and resources. Board-approved policy document that elaborates on the following areas: Diversified power generation & deliver system Energy efficiency and conservation Consumer awareness and customer service Creative financing and market development Sustainable land use practices Job training and workforce development Local, state, national & international efforts to combat climate change

19 GEO Programs: Policy GEO participated in the Project 2022 coalition to develop a road map for the next Ohio Governor. Goals and recommendations are divided by time frame and issue area The first 100 days, the first year, and the first term Land Conservation; Energy and Air Quality; Oil & Gas Extraction and Transmission; Water; Transportation; Environmental Justice and Just Transition Briefed Richard Cordray earlier this month & will brief Mike DeWine s policy staff tomorrow
