Legal, Regulatry and Administrative Framewrks The legal, regulatry and administrative framewrks upn which this Plicy was develped; NESREA Act f 2007; Electricity Pwer Sectr Refrm Act, 2005; Energy Cmmissin f Nigeria Regulatin, 1988; Delta State Ministry f Envirnment Requirements; PEL plicies n quality, health, safety, and envirnment (QHSE); and Other applicable natinal and internatinal guidelines and cnventins.

4 Nigerian Scial Legislatin Nigerian scial legislatin relevant t ur Plicy is Factries Act (Act f 1990): The Factries Act is the primary law regulating the Health, safety and welfare f wrkers in the factries and sets ut accuntability fr Vilatins f the prvisins in the Act. Labr Act (1990): The Labr Act is the main piece f legislatin prtecting the emplyment rights f individual wrkers and it includes matters such as classificatin Emplyees Cmpensatin Act 2011 ( ECA ). The ECA replaced the Wrkmen s Cmpensatin Act ( WCA ), basically t address the shrtcmings f the WCA. ECA is applicable t all categries f wrkers. Under ECA, an emplyee will be entitled t cmpensatin where such emplyee suffers an injury r dies regardless f whether such was attributable t the emplyee s fault r nt.
