2 IPF Infrastructure Project Facilty is EC funded project, to support infrastructure development in seven Western Balkan countries - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYRMAC, Kosovo, Monte Negro and Serbia IPF is project to be implemented over 48 months ( June 2008-June 2012)

3 IPF Objectives To support infrastructure development creating the conditions for regional and national sustainable development in: transport, environment, energy and social sector To support preparation of projects that may be financed trough grants and loans provided by: IFIs, IPA resources, bilateral donors, beneficiaries countries

4 Expected results Quality investment proposals for infrastructure development, reconstruction and upgrade Transfer of know how and capacity building at local and international level Enhanced collaboration with IFIs

5 Selection Criteria (1/2) Eligibility Projects Criteria Part of the National Strategy Sectors - energy, transport,environment and social sector Complementarities with IPA Nacional Programs Level of readiness ( land permits, geotechnical studies,etc.), Impacts on economy, environment, human rights, society,...

6 Selection Criteria (2/2) Prioritisation Criteria Financing perspective ( loans, grants) Social,environment, regional/cross border impact, Economic and financial assesment Balanced use of resources among the sectors Geographical spread of resources Part of regional networks

7 Sectors Energy: renewable energy, interconnection systems, transmission, energy efficiency and savings, co-generation, hydro, gas pipelines, etc... Transport: roads, railways, inland waterways, airports,.. Social sector: schools, hospitals and health centers, housing, reclusion centers, etc..., Environment: water supply, waste water treatment, sewage systems, solid waste management, emission control, etc.
