1 Bio Energie Bioenergy Village Jühnde Concept and Implementation IEC DKE PTB Programm Jühnde Eckhard Fangmeier Bioenergiedorf Jühnde eg Who is Jühnde and where is it located? First Bioenergy Village in Germany with a cooperative electricity production and heat supply bases on renewable energy 750 inhabitants 9 farmers 1300 ha fields 800 ha wood

2 Motivation for a Bioenergy Village The Idea came from University of Göttingen: Self-sufficient Heating and Electricity Supply Using Biomass Goalsof the project: economical (independent, agriculture income, middle term investment) ecological (CO-2 neutral, lesser mineral fertilizer, biodiversity) social(stronger local society, responsibility for each other, democratic decisions) Village Jühndehas been inspired by the idea, took the challenge, has build an cooperative society, made a investment decision for 5 Mio and is now responsible for the business electricity produced = 2x electricity consumed BIOENERGIEDORF JÜHNDE 10 years of decentralized Energy production on the basis of biomass Participation of the people through the cooperative with 193 members Powergeneration ~5 Mio kwh/a Heat supply 70% of the village Re-Investment hasbeenstartet Another 10 years with stabile planable EEG
