JSPL s global operations include a 2 MTPA integrated steel complex in Oman; and coal mining operations of 6.2 MTPA across Australia, South Africa and Mozambique.

India s only private steelmaker in the Rail manufacturing segment, JSPL manufactures world s longest single-piece rails of upto 121-meter length. The Plate Mill at Angul produces Special Grade Plates of upto 5 Meter width, that are used for building oil & gas pipelines, ships and a host of Industrial applications where durability over decades is paramount. JSPL s steel imparts strength to some of the recent most modern day marvels including world s highest railway bridge The 359 Meter high Chenab Bridge and India s longest 9.8 Km Chenani Nashri Highway Tunnel in J&K. JSPL s Head Hardened Rails emerged as the rails of choice to lay tracks for the Eastern Leg of the India s upcoming Dedicated Freight Corridor. The Made in India, Made By JSPL Long Rails were chosen to laying tracks for modernization of Railways infrastructure in Iran.

The DNA which has fuelled our quest of Building a Nation of Our Dreams - by Making In India, Making for the World. Starting from a mid-size Sponge Iron plant at Raigarh in early 1990s, to a steelmaker and power producer of global scale in The journey of JSPL has continuously moved in the direction of exceeding excellence. Last two years has seen us face and cross some of the most challenging laps in our journey. The laps that we have crossed successfully, and in fact achieved most of our goals ahead of time. The Financial Year marked the highest ever revenues of USD 3.5 Billion (Rs. 22,696 Crore) backed by highest ever-steel production in the history of JSPL. The years that would come will see JSPL breaking its own records, quarter-after-quarter, as we ramp up production after doubling our capacities recently, with the completion of India s Largest 4 MTPA Blast Furnace at Angul, and downstream steelmaking assets. I am glad to share a sneak preview of the size, scale, quality and diversity of the core infrastructure assets valued at USD 11.5 Billion (Rs. 75,000 crore) - passionately created by JSPL, in its endeavor to emerge as most efficient steelmaker and power producer in India, and world over. 7 Truly showcasing its dedication and commitment to pursue its dreams of Making In India, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) has successfully transformed its dream of Angul by completing Angul Greenfield project with installation of a 4 Million Tonne Per Annuam (MTPA) Blast Furnace, the largest ever built in India. Odisha s Largest and Most Modern Integrated Steel Plant at Angul has an installed capacity of 6 MTPA capacity judiciously spread over a 4 MTPA Blast Furnace and a 2 MTPA Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant. The DRI Plant is fuelled by World s largest Coal Gasification Plant to produce Syngas from swadeshi high ash coal. With a 3 MTPA Steel Melting Shop, Angul Steel Complex also comprises of a 1.2 MTPA Plate Mill manufacturing India s widest plates of upto 5 metre width. World s Largest 1.5 MTPA Bar Mill produces a range of world s leading Jindal Panther TMT Rebars. The complex also has India s largest high speed 2.3 MTPA Billet Caster. JSPL s Angul Plant Facilities and township spread over 3500 acres, are powered by a 810 MW Captive Power Plant.

8 INDIA S LARGEST 4 MTPA BLAST FURNACE India s largest and most advanced Blast Furnace with a rated capacity of 4 MTPA is the latest addition to JSPL s Angul Integrated Steel Complex. With a towering height of 104 meters and volume of 4,554 m 3, the Blast Furnace is equipped to produce upto 12,000 Metric Tonnes of Hot Metal everyday. With global leader Primetals UK providing the steelmaking technology, the highly resilient Blast Furnace is designed to use 100% pellets and high ash coal blended with coke adding to cost competitiveness of steel produced by JSPL. The Blast Furnace Project has been installed in a a significantly lower capital investment and a remarkable time of 39 months, as against an installation time frame of over 45 months for installing large Blast Furnaces of similar size. A workforce of over 13,000 was deployed at the peak of the project implementation stage, grossing a mammoth 7 million plus man-days to complete India s largest Blast Furnace at breath-taking speed. A Blast Furnace is the first step in producing steel from iron ore, to chemically reduce and physically convert iron oxides into liquid iron (hot metal). After pouring raw material in the Blast Furnace, hot air is blown from the sides. Liquid iron produced through the Blast Furnace route is then converted to steel.

9 6 MTPA STEEL MELTING SHOP JSPL s 6 MTPA Steel Melting Shop at Angul is amongst the most advanced steel melting facilities in the world. The SMS unit is powered by India s largest New Electric Oxygen Furnace (NEOF) with a capacity of 250 Tonnes. The hot metal produced by the Blast Furnace is used to feed the 2.75 MTPA NEOF and subsequently the 3.25 MTPA Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF). JSPL partnered with global technology leaders to create India s most advanced Steel Melting Shop. JSPL s Angul SMS facility consists of 2 x 250 Ladle Furnace imparting efficiencies and highest levels of resilience to the steelmaking operations.

10 Petroleum & Gas Pipelines Shipbuilding INDIA S MOST ADVANCED 1.2 MTPA PLATE MILL Pressure Vessels Country s most advanced Plate Mill at JSPL s Angul complex is capable of producing upto 5-meter wide plates the widest ever built in India. The fully automated 1.4 Km long Plate Mill facility has been built in technological partnership with Primetals. The Plate Mill develops special grade steel plates for a host of critical applications like industrial boilers, shipbuilding, petroleum & gas pipelines, automotive, earth movers, oil exploration, warships, armoured vehicles and nuclear applications.

11 WORLD S LARGEST 1.5 MTPA REBAR MILL The Rebar Mill installed at Angul has production capacity of 1.5 MTPA. The Rebar Mill manufactures multiple grades of India s most preferred Jindal Panther TMT Rebars. The most recent Rebar Mill of this size and scale in the country, JSPL partnered with SMS Meer, world leaders in rebar manufacturing technology, for technological support, to develop World s largest Rebar Mill. The advanced facility can produce 550D grade of Rebars ranging from 6 mm to 40 mm; which further be converted to Weld Mesh and Cut & Bend for customised customer specific solutions.

13 Jindal Steel and Power Limited started its journey of excellence, way back in 1989, with a mid-size sponge iron facility at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. Anchored by the steelmaker and power generator of global scale, today Raigarh is amongst the chosen few model industrial towns of India. JSPL has created steel-making capacities of 3.6 MTPA at Raigarh, backed by a mix of iron-making capacities spread over a MTPA Blast Furnace, and a 1.32 MTPA DRI Plant - world s largest coal based Sponge Iron making facility. The Steel Melting Shop is amongst the handful few installations world over to use Zero-Power New Oxygen Furnace. India s first and only Head Hardened Rail manufacturing facility of 1 MTPA capacity, which produces world s longest single piece rails of upto 121 meters, is housed at JSPL s Integrated Steel Plant at Raigarh. A 0.7 MTPA Medium and Light Structural Mill (MLSM) produces a wide range of innovative steel products like Parallel Flange Beams, Steel Columns and Angles. The Plate Mill at Raigarh, at the time of its commissioning, was India s first state-of-the-art Plate Mill with 1 MTPA capacity. The Plate Mill manufactures 3.5 meter wide plates in coil form. A Structural Steel Division at Punjipatra with world leading product fabrication unit adds to the highvalue finished steel product mix of JSPL. To meet the energy requirements of the sprawling 2500-acre industrial complex, ranked amongst India s most efficient steelmaking facility, JSPL has set up Captive Power Plant capacities of 839 MW. A 0.7 MTPA Cement Plant manufactures Portland Slag Cement using Slag and Fly-ash, effectively consuming the entire solid waste of the JSPL s steel and power plants. A fly-ash brick manufacturing facility at Raigarh produces bricks, adding to global best zero-waste environment friendly practices.

15 3.6 MTPA STEEL MELTING SHOP (SMS) The 3.6 MTPA Steel Melting Shop at Raigarh is amongst India s most advanced facilities of its size and scale. The SMS is capable of producing 10,000 Tonnes of crude steel in a single day, making it one of the most efficient in this part of the world. JSPL partnered with world leaders like SMS Siemag and Saralle, Spain, the Steel Melting Shop has the resilience to use both DRI and Hot Metal in its Feed mix, imparting a unique advantage translating into minimum energy consumption and maximum productivity. NEW ELECTRIC OXYGEN FURNACE (NEOF) Built in collaboration with technology leader Tenova, JSPL s New Electric Oxygen Furnace (NEOF) is first-of-its-kind Flexible Modular Furnace installation in Asia. The NEOF has a capability of running on Zero Power, thereby enabling cost savings of $15-20 per ton of steel that translate into significant annual cost efficiencies. The Furnace at JSPL Raigarh also has the distinction of producing 42 heats in a single day a world record. The innovative process ensures higher yield and productivity at a significantly lower capital investment, lower slag generation and zero electrode consumption.

16 1 MTPA PLATE MILL The 1 MTPA Plate Mill at Raigarh marked the entry of JSPL in the high value Flat Products segment. The first-of-its-kind 1 MTPA Plate Mill built in India way back in 2007, the facility can produce Plates in Coil form, an added edge for many customer segments. The Mill produces plates and coils of multiple grades for end-use industries spanning Oil & Gas, Shipbuilding, Pressure Vessels & Boilers, Earthmoving Equipment, Bridges and Flyovers amongst others. 1 MTPA RUBM India s first Head Hardened Rail Manufacturing Unit The 1 MTPA RUBM (Rail & Universial Beam Mill) is India s first and only facility to produce Head Hardened Rails, for laying rail tracks for Metros and High Speed Trains including Bullet Trains, taking JSPL amongst the elite list of 7 global steelmakers with the wherewithal to cater to this fast-growing futuristic rail transportation segment. The Rail and Universal Beam Mill at Raigarh, developed in collaboration with SMS Meer deploying the X-H Technology makes it the first-of-its-kind Tandem Mill to roll beams and columns. JSPL s Made In India rails are already traversing the length and breadth of Iran, and are being used for building the eastern leg of India s Dedicated Freight Corridor.

19 1.60 MTPA FINISHED STEEL CAPACITY PATRATU, JHARKHAND Around 40 Kms from State capital of Jharkhand - Ranchi, Patratu is the chosen location for JSPL for a 1.6 MTPA Finished Steel plant. The finished steel capacities are spread over a 1 MTPA Bar Mill and a 0.6 MTPA Wire Rod Mill. The TMT Rebar produce from Patratu was the genesis of India s most preferred Jindal Panther TMT Rebars. The facility produces Rebars of 8 mm to 40 mm, angles 50 x 50 mm to 90 x 90 mm and plain rounds (forging grade) and RCS. The Rebar Service Center is another unique addition, where ready-touse construction products like Cut & Bend and Wire-Mesh can be tailored based on retail customer specifications. In line with its process innovation and improvement philosophy, JSPL commissioned India s largest Producer Gas Plant (PGP) at Patratu to meet the fuel requirements of the 160 ton per hour (tph) furnace for Wire Rod mill and the 200 ton per hour (tph) furnace of Bar Mill. The strategically located state of Jharkhand was initially chosen to build a mega-steel plant of upto 12 MTPA with a Captive Power Plant of 2640 MW at an investment of $ 10 Billion. The project was however delayed due to prolonged on-ground issues, despite company s best efforts; and the captive coal blocks linked to this project were later cancelled. JSPL continues to aspire building a mega-steel and a pit-head power plant in the state of Jharkhand at at opportune time in future. 0.6 MTPA Wire Rod Mill

20 MACHINERY DIVISION RAIPUR, CHHATTISGARH The Machinery Division of JSPL, established in 1992 at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, operates out of a sprawling 52,000-square meter production facility in a 162,000- square meter campus. The Machinery Division adds a unique edge to JSPL s downstream impetus, with capability to manufacture steel and power plant equipment including Pressure Vessels, EOT & Gantry Cranes, Bulk Material Handling Equipment, Ferrous Castings and a range of customized Industrial Applications. The Raipur facility includes 10 covered shops for pre-fabrication, fabrication, machining, assembly & foundry process. The 30,000-MT division manufactures a wide range of machining products and EOT cranes capable of handling single pieces of up to 250 MT. The division is certified by ASME for manufacturing of equipment in line with U, U2, S, R and NB standards. The foundry shop has the capacity to manufacture 8-MT single-piece ferrous castings. The division makes almost all grades of steel castings, governed by stringent quality control measures and incorporates all destructive and non-destructive facilities. The in-house design & engineering facilities equipped with the latest versions of software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, PV Elite, Auto Desk Inventor, Ansys and Helix are operated by a highly skilled manpower.

23 2 MTPA INTEGRATED STEEL PLANT SOHAR, OMAN Jindal Shadeed, a subsidiary of JSPL, owns and operates a 2 MTPA integrated steel plant, 3 rd largest Steel plant in Middle East region, at Sohar, Oman. The integrated steel plant comprises of a 1.8 MTPA Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) unit, a 2 MTPA Steel Melting Shop (SMS) and a 1.5 MTPA Rebar Mill the largest in the world. The integrated steel plant is strategically located in close vicinity of Sohar port, and best equipped to cater to robust demand for steel from the Gulf and African region. High Speed Billet Caster JSPL partnered with world s leading steel technology majors including Kobe Steel - Japan, Midrex USA and Danielli Italy to create the most modern steel plant in the Middle East region. The SMS facility, Oman s first, was completed in a record time of 23 months. With a nominal capacity of 200 Tonne, the Electric Arc Furnace at Jindal Shadeed is the largest in the Middle East. The High Speed Castor unit to produce billets and blooms, is the largest and first-of-its-kind in the world. 1.5 MTPA Bar Mill

24 3.11 MTPA IRON ORE MINES TENSA, ODISHA JSPL owns and operates a 3.11 MTPA Iron Ore Mine at Tensa, Odisha. The Iron-ore mines meet part of the iron-ore requirements for the steelmaking operations of global scale operated by JSPL in Angul and Raigarh. The operations of the iron-ore mines at Tensa are fully mechanized with world leading mining technologies, that are efficient and environment friendly.

25 9 MTPA PELLETIZATION COMPLEX BARBIL, ODISHA India s largest 9 MTPA Pelletization complex comprises of a 4.5 MTPA Dry Grinding and a 4.5 MTPA Wet Grinding Pelletization units. JSPL partnered with Metso USA to set up one of the most advanced pelletmaking facilities in the world, in a record time of 23 months. The Pellet plant achieved record production and sales in FY and emerged as India s largest exporter of pellets.

26 Wollongong Valley Coking Coal Mines in Australia COKING COAL MINES WOLLONGONG VALLEY, AUSTRALIA JSPL through its subsidiary Jindal Steel and Power (Australia) PTY Ltd., owns and operates coking coal mines in the coal-rich belt of Queensland. The mines with a capacity to produce 1.2 MTPA Coking Coal are well connected to major steel producing destinations through a port in close proximity.

27 Jindal Africa s Coking Coal Washery. Mozambique, Africa COAL MINES, MOZAMBIQUE JSPL operates an opencast coalmine in Mozambique with proven reserves of 700 Million Tonnes over 25 years of expected life of the mine. The company has developed the first phase of the mine and is making significant strides to emerge as a global supplier of coking coal and high grade thermal coal to the world, from the strategically located African continent. 29 3400 MW OP JINDAL SUPER THERMAL POWER PLANT, TAMNAR, CHHATTISGARH Chhattisgarh s largest Power Generation Complex of UMPP scale Jindal Power Limited (JPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of JSPL is India s first private sector entity to set up a mega power plant of 1000 MW capacity at Tamnar, Chhattisgarh. Soon after its commissioning, JPL set new benchmarks of efficiency and productivity, operating at near 100% Plant Load Factor (PLF). The unprecedented success of JPL inspired the private sector to create power generation capacities of 50,000 MW. Power evacuation through Switch Yard to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) Buoyed by the success of the 1000 MW Thermal Power facility JPL embarked upon an expansion program to enhance the capacity of the Plant by 2400 MW. Today, the 3400 MW OP Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant is the largest Power Generation Complex of UMPP scale in the state of Chhattisgarh. Designed and developed as a pithead model power generation facility at the time of planning, the plant is connected by a first-of-its-kind 6.9 km long conveyor belt to the nearby coal mines. A 258 Km long 400 KV double circuit transmission line connects JPL s Tamnar to the National Grid. JPL emerged as the best performer in Ministry of Power and Central Electricity Authority (CEA) project execution excellence study, and won two National awards Gold Shield and Silver Shield for early completion of Thermal Power Projects. 30 1649 MW CAPTIVE POWER PLANTS Captive Power Plant (CPP), Raigarh With Steel being an energy intensive sector, setting up captive power plants for smooth and seamless steelmaking operations has been a focus area for JSPL. The Company today has a combined Captive Power generation capacity of 1649 MW, comprising of a 810 MW CPP at Angul Odisha, and 839 MW distributed over two locations, i.e. Raigarh Steel complex and a pithead unit at nearby Dongamahua. The Captive Power Generation capacities ensure steady and reliable source of power to the integrated steel plants, the residential townships and many town & villages around JSPL s operational areas. The surplus capacities of the Captive Power Plants are contracted to the state or industrial power purchasers, to enhance the operational efficiencies of the Captive Power Plants. 540 MW Captive Power Plant (CPP), Dongamahua

JSPL Foundation is dedicated to the cause of humanity and is focused upon improving the Human Development Index by way of positioning itself as a parenting force of various Social Change Agents operating at the ground level. The Foundation has been guiding force of the sustainable social development initiatives implemented by Jindal Steel & Power across its business locations. The CSR interventions are focused on enhancing quality of life of the community in the vicinity of business locations by way of improving community healthcare and education, and also developing critical small civic infrastructures besides generating sustainable livelihood options, promoting sports, art and culture. 33 Rath Shilpi s felicitated with Swayamsiddh Samman The Foundation has aligned its programmes with the Government and other developmental agencies with an objective of bringing about a radical transformation in the lives of the communities and integrating them into the mainstream development process of the country. 34 EDUCATION JSPL Foundation recognises education as one of the building blocks of any nation and considers it as a priority area. The aim is to nurture young minds and educate them, so that they contribute to the nation s development. Realising the importance and relevance of education, a number of initiatives have been undertaken in this respect like establishing a global university, specialised institutes and schools. All these initiatives have been undertaken to benefit the communities the company is operating in, by helping to increase the literacy levels of these areas. JSPL s activities in the field of education directly address the specific targets laid out for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning. JSPL s educational initiatives are based on the precept that learning is an on-going lifelong process. The initiatives span a broad range of ages and activities right from pre-primary, primary and secondary education to higher studies including engineering, management and doctorate courses. On the other hand, JSPL has spearheaded functional, industrial and vocational training in areas of its operations; and also runs adult literacy programs. The company has anchored Community Teachers Program - a unique volunteering program, to engage selected graduates from the community to teach at primary and secondary schools in vicinity of its operations. Spanning 7 locations and their neighborhood, JSPL has covered close to 150 schools in its quest to promote the Pupil Teacher Ratio. Another flagship project in memory of the Group Founder, O.P. Jindal Community Colleges help youth to develop vocational skills as a way to achieve rural sustainability, alongwith educational, social and economic mobility. 41 HEALTHCARE JSPL Foundation endeavors to make quality health affordable and accessible to the local communities and the society at large. In line with this impetus, the Foundation has established multiple charitable clinics, hospitals to provide world-class health facilities to its employees and community. Sshodashi- Low Cost Sanitary Napkin Manufacturing Center World-class health facilities are provided to the residents of Raigarh belt at the 100-bed multi-specialty O. P. Jindal Hospital & Research Centre. The Hospital, at par with the best in the country, caters to around 3500 In-Patients and 60,000 Out-patients every year. JSPL has also set up an ICU unit at General Hospital, Raigarh, which has been instrumental in saving many lives. The Foundation has undertaken a series of initiatives in the areas of preventive and curative healthcare. Kishori Express is a flagship initiative to address the problem of anemia in adolescent girls, has yielded encouraging results. Vatsalya initiative educates women about Ante-Natal and Post-Natal Care with an aim to reduce the infant mortality and maternal mortality rate, has been extremely popular and successful. Regular health and blood donation camps are organized in and around the area of operations of JSPL, for serving the community at large. Rural community healthcare services include dispensaries under the Rural Swasthya Kendra and Sanjivini Rural Healthcare brands. E-Health Centres (Telemedicine Centers) enable the community to benefit from specialist and super-specialist medical practitioners from India and abroad. Kishori Express Specialist doctors regularly visit villages around Angul, Raigarh and Patratu in fully equipped Mobile Medical Vans to hold camps. 42 WOMEN EMPOWERMENT Several women empowerment initiatives have been undertaken by JSPL Foundation. These initiatives aim to improve literacy as well as provide training to enhance livelihood generation opportunities amongst women. The foundation provides them with guidance & help to start small scale production facilities. This would in turn help the homemakers to supplement family incomes through community based micro-enterprises. Awareness programs on gender parity, sexual harassment, domestic violence, legal rights are being conducted to increase awareness on such issues. Number of skill development training programs are regularly organised to upgrade their existing traditional skills and simultaneously promote new skills. Eco-Spa - Herbal Product Manufacturing Center LIVELIHOOD Promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth by enabling productive employment opportunities and decent work for all has been amongst the pillars of JSPL Foundation s philosophy. A series of initiatives have been undertaken to equip and enable members of neighboring community to engage in sustainable income-generating activities through micro-enterprises. A few of the successful Livelihood promotion initiatives span across diverse areas of Livestock & Dairy Farming, Mushroom Cultivation, Vegetable Cultivation & Food Processing, Incense Stick and Herbal Cosmetics manufacturing, Tailoring & Embroidery work amongst a plethora of programs. In order to promote tribal art, JSPL Foundation has supported the Dhokra Craft (a traditional art of Chhattisgarh) to come out with new innovative product lines. 45 INFRASTRUCTURE India s rise in recent years is a prominent development in the world economy. To heighten this development even further, there is a need to remove the gap between rural and urban. To achieve this end, all that is required is a blend of purpose led business strategies and thoughtful initiatives. The Foundation works closely with Habitat for Humanity. JSPL Foundation s policies encourage a transparent dialogue with the community stakeholders. Infrastructure can make a key contribution in enhancing the competitiveness of economies, as well as improving the quality of life of a country s citizens. The infrastructure challenge is a dual one: requiring more creation of physical assets, but also better institutions to manage infrastructure services more effectively. Local community engagement programs on a collaborative mode with the end beneficiaries are designed to ensure the welfare of all. Several infrastructural initiatives have been undertaken in this regard. Road building, renovation of community infrastructure, village electrification, construction of RCC drains, excavation and restoration of water bodies etc. Roads Constructed under Infrastructure Development by JPL, Tamnar SKILL DEVELOPMENT JSPL has established community colleges to realise the vision of Shri O.P. Jindal to create skilled workforce so as to manufacture products and services as per international standards. These institutes offer vocational training in trades like electrical, welding, plumbing, fitting, computer operation, cutting and tailoring etc. These institutes are located at Angul & Barbil (Odisha), Patratu & Godda (Jharkhand) and Punjipathra (Chhattisgarh). Besides the above educational initiatives, the company has also adopted four Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Sarangarh, Kharsia, Gharghoda in Chhattisgarh and Barbil in Odisha. 46 JSPL S KEY PRODUCT RANGE From the widest flat products to a whole range of long products, JSPL today has a product portfolio that caters to markets across the steel value chain. JSPL has pioneered the production of Hot Rolled Parallel Flange Beams and Columns in the country. The company produces the world s longest 121-metre long rails and is the first in the country to manufacture Head Hardened Rails for high speed trains and metros. JSPL also has the distinction of producing high strength angle irons for transmission towers. The company s plate mill at Angul is capable of producing 5-meter-wide plates the widest in India.
