Respect towards the environment 1

The Galliker family enterprise in harmony with times Established in 1918, for over 4 generations the Galliker family enterprise has learned to carry responsibility. The speed of technological change and society s ecological awareness have intensified dramatically throughout the years and decades, thereby changing priorities and important values accordingly. As a specialized company in transport and logistics, we are supported by a team of 2300 employees distributed throughout 6 countries, and we feel a duty today to promote sustainability in order to preserve our environment. We wish to protect our children s and grandchildren s interests and to set the course correctly starting already today for a healthy, functioning habitat tomorrow. 2

Our commitment to the environment: Combined road-rail transport Sophisticated, own distribution network Active use of technological progress Training and personnel development Sustainable planning of infrastructures Promotion of renewable energies Respectful use of resources Respect towards the environment deeds more than words 3

Combined road-rail transport We dispatch our customers goods by rail when it is sensible to do so. Galliker has benefited from the advantages of combined road-rail transport for many years: at international level, when covering long, non time-critical distances; at national level, when transferring goods overnight within our own network of branches. According to SBB Cargo s emissions reporting, Galliker Transport AG has achieved the following reductions based on the total tonnage of goods transported by rail in 2011: 1,021 tons CO kilograms sulfur dioxide 390,154 liters diesel 3,310 tons nitrous oxide Galliker s combined transport: Transport of goods by rail per working day: rail wagons / containers / swap bodies Reloading of containers through own terminals Rail containers for refrigerated, frozen and normal goods Transloading of overseas containers 3 Eco-friendly 3 Less emissions of pollutants 3 Less truck drives 3 Decongestion of road traffic 4

«Our environment says Thank You. In one year, Galliker Transport has avoided 1,021 tons of CO 2 emissions by making 10,802 truck drives redundant.» Emissions reporting 5

We make use of technological progress As we continue to modernize our fleet of vehicles, we rely on the innovation of the latest generations of vehicles and therefore on future-oriented, eco-friendly systems. Modern vehicle technology stands for: Increasing number of exhaust emission standard EURO 6 vehicles Gradual removal of high emission vehicles Own truck workshop with 60 employees Active pollutant monitoring 3 Within 20 years over 90 % reduction of total pollutant emissions from EURO 0 to EURO 6 trucks 3 Higher road safety 8

Telematics / Track & Trace Galliker s fleet of vehicles is entirely equipped with telematics systems, allowing for optimal overview and efficient route planning. Networked communication stands for: Transmission of job data directly to the truck s monitor Direct communication between office dispatchers and drivers Optimized tour navigation Transparent planning and deployment system for office dispatchers Determination online of relevant vehicle data (mileage, travel time, etc.) Customer access to current delivery status of their consignment (Track & Trace) 3 Better vehicle utilization less empty kilometers 3 Higher and more reliable transport performance 3 Significant reduction of resource consumption and of pollutant emissions 9

Training and personnel development Increasing importance is attached to regular training for drivers. At our in-house training department we provide our staff with professional and targeted further education Training has a tradition within our company: Internal driving school with 4 driving instructors 80 apprentices in different professions Ongoing training of newcomers to become professional drivers (junior program) Regular in-house further education of our drivers Internal ECO-Drive courses 3 More awareness as to driving quality thanks to ECO-Drive 3 Less fuel consumption 3 Promotes self-responsibility and environmental awareness «The great aim of education is not knowledge, but action.» Herbert Spencer ( ) 10

Sustainable planning of infrastructures When planning new buildings and facilities, we consistently give due consideration to the criteria of sustainability and environmental compatibility. We are firmly convinced that investing in ecologically meaningful building concepts will pay off in future. With a forward-looking approach, Galliker plans its infrastructures by putting emphasis on the use of advanced ecological materials, energy systems and technologies. It is our responsibility towards the future generations. We attach importance to: Optimal, sustainable energy concepts Use of waste heat from refrigerating systems for heating purposes (savings: 250,000 liters heating oil per year) Transmission of excess waste heat to the interconnected heat system Use of innovative CO 2 refrigerating systems Use of energy saving LED lighting systems Consistent replacement of outdated equipment and energy gobblers 3 Ecological and economic payback 3 Sustainability 3 Creates confidence with customers, the authorities and the population Project logistics center in Dagmersellen Construction in 2013 /

Promotion of renewable energies / waste disposal Using renewable energies allows us to return a part of the resources borrowed from the environment. Furthermore, by means of our active contribution to the environment, we wish to set a good example along the lines of a new energy era. Photovoltaic system in Staad SG (Sep 2012) 530,000 kwh / year (= 150 single-family houses) Photovoltaic system in Nebikon LU (Dec 2012) 761,000 kwh / year (= 210 single-family houses) Photovoltaic system in Dagmersellen LU (autumn 2014) 2,400,000 kwh / Jahr (= 620 single-family houses) (in project) Use of geothermal energy 90 % of all Galliker buildings are heated using renewable energy Proportional use of biofuels 3 Contribution to CO 2 neutrality 3 Environmentally friendly energy sources 3 Improved level of self-sufficiency «If you don t move with the times, with time you must move out.» 12

Our way to protect our resources and the environment: Use of rainwater in our vehicle washing facilities Preliminary on-site sewage treatment Systematic waste separation Wood, glass, batteries, chemicals, cardboard, plastic: professional recycling of separated materials 3 Less waste = less resource consumption; Energy savings = climate protection 13
