1 Offshore Completion Systems Meeting the Reservoir Needs Presented by: Martin Geddes Well Integrity and Control

2 Convention #27 Some Completion teams can only operate down to the reservoir level. We start our Completions from the reservoir up. 2

3 Our philosophy: To implement tailored Completions that 4

9 Reliable Open Hole Zonal Isolation Proven Open Hole Sealing Capability Capable of supporting high axial loads. Less than 180psi radial stress exerted on the borehole Operate up to 150oC Bottom Hole temperature Proven sealing capability at minimum and maximum temperature and over multiple temperature swings in excess of 100oC Capable of operating in low and high temperature swing conditions. Set without washpipe 10

19 Autonomous ICD (RCP Valve) Functions as Passive ICD during oil production Delays water or gas breakthrough Balances inflow profile in long horizontal wells Additional restriction unwanted water or gas production at breakthrough when compared to Passive ICD Increases ultimate recovery Extends well life No intervention or connection to surface required Technology licensed to Weatherford Each unit functions independently joint-to-joint A number of wells completed to date

20 Autonomous ICD (RCP Valve) - Concept Principle of operation Functions per Bernoulli principle One moving part disk Free floating disk rests during oil production allowing maximum flow area As Water-Oil or Gas-Oil Mobility Ratio increases high mobility fluid velocity increases Pressure is lower at the flowing side of the disc due to the large velocity of high mobility fluid Higher pressure behind the disc will lift it towards its seat Upward movement of the disk restricts the flow of high mobility fluid (water or gas) Reference papers SPE & SPE AICD Gas or Water production Standard ICD/AICD Oil production Standard ICD Gas production

21 Autonomous ICD (RCP Valve) Well Applications Passive ICD Homogeneous reservoirs Preset to delay coning at the heel Improved mud clean-up at the toe Heterogeneous reservoirs Preset to delay coning at high permeable zones Improved mud clean-up across low permeable zones Autonomous ICD Additional Benefits Additional Benefits Heavy oil reservoirs Provides limited restriction to flow of high mobility fluids Additional Benefits Homogeneous reservoirs RCP Valve further restricts high mobility fluid flow to favour oil production Heterogeneous reservoirs RCP Valve will further restrict high mobility fluid flow to favour oil production. RCP Valve provides best solution in wells with high reservoir uncertainty Heavy oil reservoirs Provides active restriction to flow of high mobility fluids
