6 Your Investment Supports COSEIA Projects to Help Your Business Succeed: Solar CitiSuns Our latest initiative seeks to harness the vast support for solar energy among Coloradans into a more effective voice to shape policy. Solar CitiSuns include the 30,000 Coloradans who have already decided to go solar and the hundreds of thousands more who want to go solar. We are building Solar CitiSuns into a powerful force to learn about the many benefits of solar energy, the barriers to solar deployment and the actions needed to create strong solar policy. Solar Power Colorado: Don t miss the largest solar event in the Rocky Mountain region, which will take place each winter. Solar Friendly Communities: This exciting partnership between the solar industry, local governments and other stakeholders aims to cut red tape in local permitting to make it faster, easier and less expensive for citizens to go solar. The program provides valuable recognition for communities that make the effort to grow more solar energy. So far, 18 communities including all the biggest cities in Colorado-- have been certified as Solar Friendly Communities, representing nearly 3 million people. Visit to learn more. Solar Thermal Pilot Project: Solar heating and cooling technologies have been neglected in recent years, but we are launching an exciting initiative to bring solar thermal into the mainstream. With a grant from the Colorado Energy Office, we will develop financing models for solar thermal systems that don t rely on incentive payments. Then, working with utilities, we plan to deploy systems in a pilot project that we hope will lead to a replicable model for solar thermal expansion. in Colorado.
