Solar CitiSuns include the 30,000 Coloradans who have already decided to go solar and the hundreds of thousands more who want to go solar. We are building Solar CitiSuns into a powerful force to learn about the many benefits of solar energy, the barriers to solar deployment and the actions needed to create strong solar policy. Solar Friendly Communities: This exciting partnership between the solar industry, local governments and other stakeholders aims to cut red tape in local permitting to make it faster, easier and less expensive for citizens to go solar. The program provides valuable recognition for communities that make the effort to grow more solar energy. Solar Thermal Pilot Project: Solar heating and cooling technologies have been neglected in recent years, but we are launching an exciting initiative to bring solar thermal into the mainstream. With a grant from the Colorado Energy Office, we will develop financing models for solar thermal systems that don t rely on incentive payments. Then, working with utilities, we plan to deploy systems in a pilot project that we hope will lead to a replicable model for solar thermal expansion. in Colorado.
