6 Explanation of terms Installment Partial payment or down payment for energy that has already been supplied. The amount of the installment is based on the expected energy consumption. Billing calorific value Shows how much energy is contained in natural gas based on the chemical composition. The calorific value of the natural gas delivered to the supply network is continuously measured, with the weighted average for the invoicing period in question being incorporated into the thermal consumption bill. Code no. of the Network operator The network operator number is used to identify the local distribution network operator to whose network the supply point is connected. EEG (renewable energy) levy The EEG levy promotes the generation of electricity in plants using renewable energy sources, which are remunerated in accordance with the Erneuerbaren- Energien Gesetz (EEG; Renewable Energy Act). These costs are divided between all consumers in accordance with the EEG. Thermal gas bill Natural gas is measured by volume, i. e. in cubic meters (m³) depending on the pressure and temperature. The measured volume of natural gas in (m³) is converted to kilowatt hours (kwh) so that it can be invoiced without the influence of pressure and temperature. For this, the consumption in (m³) is multiplied by the conversion factor and the calorific value in accordance with the recognized calibration regulations. Basic price The basic price covers the consumption-independent costs and is generally made up of various cost elements. Concession fee Fees paid to the municipality for the use of transport routes through supply lines. KWK (cogeneration) levy The KWK levy promotes the resource-saving, simultaneous generation of electricity and heat. The charges arising from the Kraft-Wärme- Kopplungsgesetz (KWKG; Combined Heat and Power Act) are divided between the end consumers throughout Germany. Measurement service A measurement includes the calculation of the energy consumption, as well as recording, management and provision of the meter reading. These costs are invoiced by the grid operator or metering service provider. Transformer factor of the measuring system Measuring transformers reduce high currents or voltages. The relevant measurement parameter (e.g. consumption, power) must be multiplied with the transformer factor. Metering point operation Metering point operation covers the installation and removal, operation and maintenance of meters. These costs are invoiced by the grid operator or metering point operator. Grid utilization fees Energy grid operator's fee for transporting and distributing the energy and the services connected to this. These costs are invoiced by the grid operator. 19 StromNEV-Umlage The exoneration or exemption from grid charges for energy-intensive companies is financed by sharing the cost. The charges arising from the StromNEV are shared among the end consumers throughout Germany. Consumption price The consumption price designates the price per consumed unit. (Kilowatt hours (kwh) for electricity, gas and district heating, and cubic meters (m³) for water and waste water). Consumption point Location at which the energy is supplied and the service provided. Contract account The customer master data, information regarding the consumption point and all payments relating to this consumption point are recorded under the contract account. Metering point A metering point clearly identifies a consumption point. This number only exits once in the European energy grid. The relevant measurement data is collected at the metering point. Using the metering point label, the grid operator can precisely identify the location of the consumption point and assign the meter. In contrast, the meter number is not location-specific as meters can be exchanged. Factor Correction factor which is used to cancel out the influence of pressure and temperature on the energy content of the gas volume. Page 6/ 6
