9 What Germany offers Reliable investment environment Russian FDI stocks in Germany almost quadrupled since About 1,200 Russian companies were registered in Germany in High level education and R&D leader More than 1,700 Russian researchers represent the fourth largest share of foreign R&D personnel in Germany s universities. In the 2011 fall semester about 13,600 Russians studied in Germany, the third largest group of foreign students. World s best infrastructure Every week there are about 400 direct flights connecting the Russian Federation and Germany. With 6% of all trips, Germany is the most popular destination for Russian travelers in the European Union. 9
