3 Description of Drinking-Water System: The Phelpston water treatment plant is located at 2 Hall Street in the community of Phelpston. It services the Shamrock Meadows subdivision. Raw Raw water is supplied by two drilled wells identified as wells #1 and #2. Each well is located on site and is equipped with a submersible well pump and flow meter. Treatment & Storage Sodium hypochlorite is injected for disinfection. There are two chemical metering pumps - one will provide back-up in case the other fails. Water is then directed to an underground dual-celled reservoir with a total volume of 635 m 3. Adequate contact time is provided by the reservoir. Distribution Four high lift pumps deliver water from the reservoir to the distribution system. The distribution system is comprised of PVC piping. Monitoring The plant is equipped with a continuous chlorine residual analyzer. This data, as well as flow and well level data, is recorded using a data recorder. The facility is alarmed for various parameters and has a 2 kw diesel generator for back-up power in case of emergencies. List all water treatment chemicals used over this reporting period: Sodium hypochlorite, 12% NSF for disinfection Significant expenses incurred to: Install required equipment Repair required equipment Replace required equipment Other Description of significant expenses incurred in 217: 1. Annual Audit - Drinking Water Quality Management Standard (DWQMS) 2. Diesel Tank Inspection 3. Installation of HLP Variable Frequency Drive Fans 4. Repairs to Variable Frequency Drives #1 & #2 Details on the notices submitted in accordance with subsection 18(1) of the Safe Drinking- Water Act or section 16-4 of Schedule 16 of O.Reg.17/3 and reported to Spills Action Centre: Unit of Corrective Incident Date Parameter Result Corrective Action Measure Action Date July 25, 217 Total Coliform 42 CFU Resample; result = July 27, 217 See Certificate of Analysis in Appendix A.
