Company presentation PlanET Biogas Global GmbH Iqualiptus Malle, Sales Manager Tanzania AHK Geschäftsreise Tansania, Energieeffizienz & Eigenversorgung mit Erneuerbaren Energien in der Industrie vom in Dar Es Salaam

PlanET - your competent partner PlanET: Success in figures. 20 years of expertise 400 biogas plants worldwide More than 200 employees 5 international branches (see map at right; marked bright green), many countries of project activities (marked dark green) 60 Mio. annual turnover Driven by pure Energy for the protection of the world s climate Our motto is The bottom line is your profit. We consider ourselves as a long-term partner for our customers. 2

PlanET provides state of the art anaerobic digestion / wet fermentation technology with worldwide expertise in Waste-to-Energy and agricultural AD construction. PlanET offers steel tanks or equips reinforced concrete tanks built locally Local obligations to be taken over by the client s general contractor are e.g. civil works, earth works, foundation, grid connection, de-packaging, housing, roads etc. 3

PlanET s international construction scope Agricultural biogas plants Customized farm solution concepts from 75kW up to several MW All plants are set up in a modular system for easy expansion. Waste to Energy biogas plants All kinds of organic waste material concepts Optional pasteurization technology Remarkable reduction of CO 2 emission Individual consulting for the best gas utilization: electricity generation with CHP units or different bio-methane upgrading technologies NEW: Small/Medium scale biogas plant Valentin Easy to construct standardized digestion system with steel tank kW system which runs on manure or liquid waste Electricity and heat can be used on farm or feed into the public grid 20 years of biogas know-how combined in a simple assembly kit. 4

Feedstocks flexibility You have the feedstocks - We design your biogas plant Agricultural feedstocks: Pig and cow slurry, poultry dung, manure, bedding, energy crops (maize, corn, etc.), grass, beets, potatoes, onions, sunflowers, green rye and many others Industrial by-products Waste-to-Energy Food industry waste, fish and slaughterhouse waste, flotation fat, dairy products and whey, brewery and distillery waste, vegetable oil and fat, organic municipal waste, vegetable and fruit leftovers, glycerine, leftovers from food production e.g. jam, chicken, chips, outdated food e.g. ready meals, packet soup 5

What do I need to run a Valentin biogas plant? Are you a cow, pig or chicken farmer or do you deal with organic waste? Produce e.g. 50kW electricity with the following feedstock: Option 1: Cattle manure t/day cow manure per day from approx cows with an average total solid content of 10%. Option 2: Pig manure t/day pig manure per day from approx. 4,500 7,000 pigs with an average total solid content of 5 %.* *Less manure is required in combination with another available biomass. See option 5. Option 3: chicken manure (Energy rich feedstock but due to his high nitrogen content it can only be used as a by-product) t/day liquefied chicken manure with an average of 10% total solid content 6

What do I need to run a Valentin biogas plant? 50kWel feedstock part 2: Option 4: Food waste A wide variety of residues can be used from various industries, e.g. fruit and vegetable processing, ready meal production, bakeries, dairies, beverages, breweries, etc. Requirement: 5-8 t food waste per day with an average total solid content of 14-20%. Option 5: Combination of different substrates Depending on the availability of suitable biomass on site, it is possible to use a mixture of different feedstock and to reduce the required amount of pig or cow manure by using food waste, chicken manure or another biomass. For example, one ton of chicken manure or food waste can replace up to 7 to 9 t pig or cow manure. 7

Valentin system On-Farm set-up existing Supplied to the client up to 400,000 kwh el /a Quantity: m³/d of liquid feedstock Digester: 16.5 x 3 m Hydraulic retention time (HRT): 30 days The generated biogas can either be burned in a CHP unit to produce heat and electricity or in a biogas boiler to produce only heat existing 8

PlanET s construction scope Project Phases Pre- Project phase Budgetary concept calculation (Brief overview of plant design, output, costs and revenue) Project Development phase Site visit Detailed biological and technical assessment of all gathered information Detailed Material and Installation offer Pre-Engineering (all drawings which are relevant for the permit phase) Consulting support for local tasks (concrete work, compliance to local regulations, sourcing of right companies etc.) Project Implementation Detailed Engineering Ordering of all components Transportation Construction Site Supervision Start-up & Commissioning Operator Training Service Maintenance Remote biological and technical support to the client s local operational team 9

Example 1: Waste-to-Energy plant Canadian biogas plant using organic waste 3 Pre-storage tanks 269 m³ 3 Digesters 3,925 m³ Digestate storage 5,645 m³ CHP units 2.8 MW (in total) Feeding system PlanET Vario with eco flow Treatment system Sterilization system Input materials slaughterhouse waste, carcasses, food production waste, cow slurry, cow manure, chicken dung 10

Example 2: Biomethane plant German biomethane plant in combination with CHP 4 Digester 4,928 m³ 2 Digestate storage 6,433 m³ CHP unit 1.12 MW (in total) Upgrading unit 350 m³ biomethane Feeding system 4 PlanET Vario 74 m³ Input materials Maize, chicken manure cattle and pig slurry, green rye, grass silage 11

Example 3: PlanET s commitment for Africa Biogas in a backpack - PlanET Biogastechnik supports new ways of decentralized biogas use in rural Uganda In rural areas with small amounts of feedstocks it makes sense to decrease the level of technology and investment. In 2017 PlanET s sales manager Christof Langguth took part in a workshop to develop innovative ways for renewable energies in Uganda. The work of the group Agali Awamu (top photo) resulted in a successful pilot project. For more information please contact Christof (c.langguth@planet-biogas.com) or click 12
