20 UK CCS Key Enablers 1. Recognise that CCS will need to be deployed at scale from the 2030s onwards to achieve UK climate goals 2. Establish a goal for the first UK CCS projects to be operating by the mid-2020s - enabling intelligent optionality on CCS 3. CCS development timelines are long and it is necessary that there is consistent progress on critical enabling actions pre Allocate sufficient funding to support the first critical phases of investment pre Establish a national CCS delivery body 4 November 2017 East Coast CCS Investments Report/Presentation 19 All rights reserved

21 A Clear Action Plan and Delivery Timetable Delivery could be a form of public private partnership to address system architecture, delivery strategy, cross border linkages and risk share Focus must be on supporting specific projects/regions rather than generic CCS options Grangemouth, St Fergus, Teesside and beyond Promote cross party support for a CCS delivery plan an investable proposition for government and industry Funding is required to advance CCS industry and energy cluster at Grangemouth
