The proposed Project is residential in nature and doesn t involve production and manufacturing process of any kind. Construction Phase Minimum bulk material for construction brought as and when required from local market and temporarily stored at site with proper arrangement of storage and under proper cover. Operation Phase: Provision for separate warehouse, utilities and storage will be provided. Solid Wastes: Solid waste: Solid waste generated in Project area will be about 1.28 ton/day consisting of cardboard containers, plastic, wooden blocks, paper waste and food waste. Solid will be segregated into biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes and collected in separate bins. The non-biodegradable wastes will be sold to recyclers. The biodegradable waste will be collected in bins and will be converted in to compost by use of OWC. Liquid Effluent: On site sanitation facilities will be provided for proper disposal and treatment during the construction phase. While in operation phase, It is estimated that about KLD of wastewater will be generated, this will be treated in Sewage Treatment Plant of 420 KLD capacity. Suitable drainage and waste management practices will be adopted in both construction as well as operational phase which will restrict stagnation of water or accumulation of waste. This will effectively restrict the reproduction and growth of disease vectors. It is expected that 50 numbers of workers will be employed during construction phase. In Operation Phase project will provide direct and indirect employment to the local people. Production of solid wastes during construction or operation or decommissioning (MT/month). 6 . 4.2 Municipal waste (domestic and or commercial wastes) Details thereof (with approximate quantitie rates, The municipal solid wastes generated during operation phase will consist of: Organic waste waste vegetables and food materials. Inorganic waste Paper, plastics, polythene bags, glass, etc. Adequate number of collection bins, separately for biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste will be provided as per Solid Waste Management Rules, Waste from such bins will be collected separately on daily basis. The quantity of solid wastes generated will be approximately 1.28 ton/ day. The recyclable waste will be dispose to recyclers. The biodegradable waste will be collected in bins and will be converted in to compost by use of OWC. 4.3 Hazardous wastes (as per Hazardous Waste Management Rules) The only hazardous wastes in the project is used /spent oil from backup DG sets, which is classified as Hazardous Waste Category 5.1 as per Hazardous & Other Wastes (Management & Transboundary Movement) Rules Spent Oil from backup DG sets is being carefully stored in HDPE drums in isolated covered facility. This spent oil is being sold to authorized recyclers. Suitable care is being taken so that spill leaks of spent oil from storage could be avoided. 4.4 Other industrial process wastes t applicable 4.5 Surplus product t applicable. 4.6 Sewage sludge or other sludge from effluent treatment It is estimated that 80kg STP sludge will be used as organic manure in landscaping. 4.7 Construction or demolition wastes The construction waste will consist of construction debris along with cement bags, small cut-pieces of steel, insulating and packaging materials etc. Cement bags, waste paper and cardboard packing material will be sold off to recyclers. Unusable steel scrap will also be collected at site and sold to recyclers. 4.8 Redundant machinery or equipment t applicable. 4.9 Contaminated soils or other materials t applicable Agricultural wastes t applicable Other solid wastes t applicable. 5. Operation Phase During the operational phase, sewage will be collected and treated in 420 KLD capacity of STP. Apart from this, the construction activities were restricted to daytime only. Source of noise in the operational phase were compressors, pumps, oil pulse tubes, assembly tools and grinders. During operation phase noise will be generated due to traffic. Moreover noise will be generated due to operation of DG Set. Hence, DG sets will be provided with acoustic enclosures to maintain the noise levels within limits.
