4 SAYAENDO Concept Nickname SAYAENDO Light structure with continuous tank cover Low FOC Better maintainability Conventional LNGC 2018 ITSUBISHI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. All Rights Reserved. 4

5 Design Concept of SAYAENDO Key Technologies Continuous tank cover oss/stretched tank UST/Reheat turbine Improved Operating Economy Increased cargo capacity (+8000m 3 from 147km 3 ) FOC saving by UST, improved hull form and less wind resistance. Low BOR (0.15 to less 0.10%/d selectable) Flexibility of fuel selection (100% Gas, 100% Oil & Dual burning) aintenance cost saving(less supporting structure of pipes) Cost Saving Less Steel Weight Better Terminal Compatibility Tradable cargo tank capacity for worldwide terminals Compact dimension on per with conventional 147km 3 LNGC 49m Breadth for New Panama Canal Transit Environmentally Friendly Less CO2 emission by low FOC 100% Gas burning & 100%GO(0.1% sulfur oil)can be used Low NOx Emission (Lower than Tier III level) 2018 ITSUBISHI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. 6 Hull Weight Reduction by Continuous Tank Cover SAYAENDO can save the Steel Weight by providing continuous tank cover contribute largely to whole Hull Strength. Conventional tank cover Not effective on strength Continuous tank cover Effective strength member Small Structural Deck Area Larger Structural Deck Area Structural Height abt.27m Structural Height Abt.47m 2018 ITSUBISHI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. 7 Reduction of Longitudinal Wind Resistance Wind load analysis by wind tunnel tests Longitudinal Wind Force is decreased by abt.20-40% from conventional type. Conventional Type It shall contribute to improve fuel consumption in actual voyage. 3-4% improvement of fuel consumption is expected under Beaufort 5 wind scale condition. SAYAENDO Type Lateral wind resistance is increased slightly. Influence on ships maneuverability and mooring at terminals have been confirmed ITSUBISHI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. All Rights Reserved. 7

8 SAYARINGO Concept 180km 3 class New Panamax OSS type LNGC "SAYARINGO" "SAYARINGO" is nickname of New Panamax OSS type LNG Carrier with continuous tank cover and apple shaped tanks. ( apples in a pod ) 1. Continuous tank cover 3. High efficient Plant 180km 3 capacity within New Panamax breadth 49m 2. Apple shaped tank High efficient twin Propulsion plant Patent pending New OSS type tank (Apple shaped tank) RINGO (apple) 2018 ITSUBISHI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. All Rights Reserved. 8

9 Apple-shaped Tank New OSS type tank named Apple-shaped tank with minor geometrical modification from the OSS tank is configured with combination of sphere, cylinder and torus part. Extension of stretched cylindrical part Northern and Southern convex shape configured by sphere and torus in series Less total height and Lower center of gravity SAYAENDO s tank SAYARINGO s tank Sphere Less height Tank height Sphere 球 Torus COG Cylinder 円筒 Cylinder Sphere 球 Center Of Gravity Sphere Lower COG Apple shape Tank Torus Sphere Stretched OSS tank Apple-shaped tank 2018 ITSUBISHI SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. 10 STaGE Concept STaGE is a hybrid propulsion system of UST and DFD Electric propulsion plant. Plant efficiency is significantly improved by waste heat recovery of DFD. Propulsion power is reduced by adoption of twin-screw system HV GO BOG Gen. 6L50DF DFD generator Gen. 6L50DF 2 STAGE L/D COP. (2 sets) L/D COP. Gen. 6L50DF GAS HTR GAS HTR Abt. 80% of waste heat from DFD is recovered. PCV GO CARGO TK LP TURB AST. RH UST R/G RH BOILER FPP IP TURB HP TURB Electric propulsion FPP R/G PE Conv. Trans.
