Why is rubber used? Linatex Rubber will outlast Steel, Manganese Steel and even Ni Hard Iron in many applications. The main reason is its unique properties: Phenomenal Resiliance Exceptional Tear Resistance All round Toughness Unique Cross Linking of Molecular Structure These four specific properties are used every time a rock hits a Linatex liner. All rubber will deform under impact. What makes Linatex so outstanding is its ability to absorb the kinetic energy component at right angles with the surface and return most of this energy to the particle, in the form of rebound. Linatex resilience together with tear, cut and abrasion resistance has been proven for over 80 years in the mining and quarrying industries. Linatex is the only rubber to combine these properties making it irrelaceable in abrasion trouble spots. Other applications where Linatex rubber exhibits long term solutions are in the chemical process industries, in fact anywhere corrosion resistance is needed. Linatex also offers a range of rubbers that are used extensvely for corrosion resistance in acids and alkalis as a cost saving initiative over the use of exotic alloys. 2.

Valves Hand Operated A totally enclosed pinch valve, closure is effected by a screw-actuated clamp thrusting down on a full bore sleeve. Standard bodies are cast from high-grade aluminum. Where more robust construction is required, cast iron bodies are available. Linaflow Valves Linaflow valves comprise of a reinforced Linatex natural rubber sleeve surrounded by a high-grade aluminum body. When compressed air is introduced the sleeve is flattened, forming a complete and effective seal. The Linatex Linaflow is ideal for sequential operation. It can handle abrasive and corrosive applications, powders, granulated products, slurries and liquids up to 65 C and line pressures of up to 350kPa. Knife Gate Valves The Linatex Knife Gate valve s central feature is its replaceable abrasion resistant Linatex natural rubber liners. The liner design ensures that the valve can be fully opened whilst at the same time providing leak-proof sealing. Double Non Return Check Valves (DNR) The DNR is ideal for abrasive systems where quick action changeover is required when starting up stand-by pumps. The DNR valve employs durable Linatex rubber hinges of a special design, which ensures there is no place for solids to jam the action. The DNR design eliminates the check ball, which can wear out, jam the line or build up with scale and prevent resealing. Single Non Return Check Valves (SNR) The SNR has been designed for abrasive slurry systems where flow in one direction only is required. For fitting in either horizontal or vertical lines to prevent back pressure or reversal of flow. Fitting the SNR to the lower end of suction lines will prevent slurry draining back and so maintains the pump prime. Delta Valves The Linatex Delta valve is a simple, effective pinch valve developed for controlling corrosives and abrasives. Designed specifically for rapid, repeated on-off cycling, the Delta valve features two piece replaceable rubber liners inside rugged aluminium or cast-iron bodies. Spare Valve Sleeves At Linatex we manufacture our valve sleeves from Linatex Rubber to suit ALL makes of pinch valves. Replacement sleeves offer the same pressure rating as original equipment but provide the added protection of Linatex Rubber, for longer service life. 6.

Slurry Pumps Linatex has been manufacturing hard wearing rubber lined slurry pumps for more than 50 years. These pumps are designed for use with abrasive slurries and corrosive chemical applications where normal metal lined pumps are not suitable due to excessive wear rates or internal chemical attack. The latest generation pump, the Linapump IIIr, combines improved head and efficiency. For ease of maintenance, the split case design is fitted with moulded Linatex rubber liners and impellers as standard. The pumps are available with three different gland arrangements to suit the most demanding applications. Linatex slurry pumps offer numerous user friendly features, including : Fully field replaceable wear liners, gland wear parts and impellers to minimise maintenance down time and cost. Split case design, face plate drain plug and a crane and crawl assembly, simplifying maintenance access. Overhead or side mounted motor drives, direct coupled or belt driven for maximum flexibility. Pumps are offered in a eight different sizes, ranging from the smallest 35/35 for flows up to 6L/sec, to the largest 300/250 for flows in excess of 500L/sec and heads up to 45m. Full pumping system analysis can be carried out and pump selection and motor power requirements can be determined, upon request, using the Linatex Pumptec selection program, to ensure that each pump specification is exactly tailored to the user s requirements. Best Efficiency Point 7.

Process Equipment Linatex Hydrocyclones use centrifugal force to classify solid particles in a liquid stream by size and density. These units are fully lined internally with Linatex rubber to maximise component wear life, and have no moving parts, thus minimising maintenance requirements. Linatex cyclones are an extremely simple and economical means of classification, especially in open and closed circuit grinding operations. They are also widely used to dewater solids from slurry streams, to separate slimes from sands and to recover fine particles from effluent streams. Hydrocyclones Linatex cyclones offer the following features as standard - Cyclone diameters from 100mm to 915mm, with a full range of inlet, vortex finder and spigot sizes to suit all applications. Narrow angle cones and extended feed boxes to enable finer particles to be recovered to the cyclone underflow. Standard or custom designed cyclone clusters in a wide range of styles to suit all user requirements. The unique Linatex Fishtail cyclone (the Separator), for higher underflow densities and improved underflow control with varying feed densities. Linatex uses the latest developments in computer generated cyclone modelling, based on actual performance from the many Linatex cyclone installations world wide. Linatex will select the appropriate cyclone or cluster to optimise the performance of new or established process plants in sand washing, coal preparation, metalliferous mining and mineral processing. 8.

Flat Bottom Classifiers The Linatex FB Classifier is a revolutionary new approach to hydraullic classification of particles according to size or density. Using advanced developments of the world renowned Linatex T-Type Classifier, the FB Classifier reliably extracts fine or light particles from slurries at high efficiency, while misplacing a minimum of coarse or heavy particles to the overflow. The FB Classifier uses the solids in the feed to form a dense settled bed inside the unit, which then acts as the classification medium. Slurry is fed in via a central feed well (1) which distributes the feed uniformly into the classification chamber. Process water is injected into the base of the tank (3) through a plenum chamber via multiple moulded rubber injection nozzles (4), to ensure uniform water distribution across the entire cross sectional area of the classifier. The interaction of the settling solids and the rising water current creates a fluidised bed (2) which inhibits the settling of fine size or low density particles, whilst allowing the coarser / heavier material to settle to the bottom of the chamber. The rising water current carries the fine or light particles over the top overflow weir (5), while the heavier / coarser particles are discharged via rubber lined pulsed pinch valves at the base of the classifier(7). FB Classifiers operate automatically from direct measurement of the settled bed level (6), via a controller which activates the discharge valves, thus minimising operator attention. Because the settling process is low turbulence, wear inside the classifiers is almost non-existent. By simply adjusting the injection water flow rate with a throttling valve, the operator can immediately adjust the classifier cut size, on line, to optimise process performance. FB Classifiers have been successfully utilised for the separation of charcoal from sand; ash from coal fines; silica from iron ore fines; silica from heavy mineral sand concentrates, for counter current washing of acid leached slurries and for a wide range of desliming and size classification duties. 9.
