You can bring a horse to the water but you can t make it drink 4

So please work with us Listen and note What, who said it and how it can impact your business Meet and Network Seek out the people yourself and don t wait to be invited. Room 018 set for informal meetings Stay connected 5

High Profile Project for UCY 7

TwinPV Main Objectives Successful participation in national/eu programs Collaboration agreements with businesses/industry. bridging the gap between academia-industry in Cyprus.. New innovative products & services Extended synergies between UCY-AIT UCY-DTU due to increased R&I capacity 8

How will the objectives be achieved? Training researchers (physical visits and webinars) and knowhow exchange Joint PhD projects and programs Networking (with MENA and researchers and industry EU) Collaboration with innovative companies Long term infrastructure sharing and use of UCY as a test bed. 9

Specific Actions, Events and Training 6 exchange training visits 5 training webinars Two PhD schools (AIT and DTU) Two thematic workshops/networking for MENA at UCY One final dissemination event for MENA at UCY Three European (scientific and industrial) networking events 10

A word on MENA: prime for SOLAR, PV No CO 2 and no pollutants emissions More predictable price (Oil varies) Supply and demand work in opposite ways. Demand for oil goes up price goes up. Demand for solar goes up, price comes down UNSUSTAINABLE UTILITIES SUBSIDIES Favorable weather, vast amounts of land 11

Our Topic : Photovoltaic Solar Energy is very important for Cyprus. Energy demand for Cyprus is increasing rapidly Photovoltaics Lab at UCY experienced in renewable energy and especially Photovoltaics Therefore, focus on renewable energy and the title of the project is Stimulating scientific excellence through twinning in the quest for sustainable energy 12

Our Partners Technical University of Denmark 13

Why these Partners Top Institutions: Combination of Academic (DTU, UCY) and Industrial (AIT) Familiarity with each others work and prior collaboration Complementary skills and areas of expertise 14

Complementary Expertise Cells, Modules Performance, Degradation, New Technologies Grid: Integration, Smart Technologies Society Socio economic impact of high penetration of renewables UCY AIT DTU 15

Kickoff Meeting UCY on 8/2/

Training at AIT: May

Training at DTU: Sept

Next Events of Interest Workshops: Dec 2016, 2017 and 2018 Proposal with research promotion foundation: Looking for industry collaboration. Specific talk later on. Webinar conducted by UCY: April
