2 ASACHA Project Status Construction Mine development proceeds steadily and stoping started in June 2011 Plant building construction is complete, plant equipment is installed and technological piping is in place Construction of plant engineering systems (ventilation, water, power and heat supply, sewage) is close to completion Infrastructure ready to ensure the plant start-up Cyanide and other reagents have been delivered to site 381 personnel at site, including 180 contractors 2

3 Underground Mine FULL-SCALE STOPING STARTED IN JUNE 2011: more than 700 tonnes extracted with about 40g/t grade As of 1 June 2011: - >4,800 metres/50,000 m 3 done since total ore ready for processing > 68,000 tonnes - mining activity with two shifts since Feb 2011 According to 2011 Mining Plan: ->3,300 metres/29,000 m 3 to be done - >100,000 tonnes of ore to be extracted (including 75,000 tonnes from stoping activities) -mine development is focused on preparing ore extraction works in

7 Plant Construction Plant building (outside) completed: foundations, sandwich panels walls, multi-layer roof with thermal insulation, concrete walls, windows Plant building (inside) completed: concrete inner walls, flooring, major metalwork, stairs, etc. Finishing operations (painting, smoothing, gypsum board walls erection, etc.) are going on Coarse ore bin and conveyor gallery completed, conveyor and feed bin installed Technological piping is being finalised Supply and engineering systems (power, water, heating, sewage, ventilation ) are being finalised Plant equipment assembled, mills installation and operation of electrolysis and desorption area checked by the manufacturer (checks in December 2010, June 2011 and in July 2011) 7

17 ASACHA Project Status Related issues Personnel (plant personnel, security, etc.) hired Contract agreed with gold/silver refinery Gold/silver purchase contract under negotiation with Sberbank Metal Dore transportation contract agreed Permits obtained and commissioning of objects started (e.g. cyanide storage facility, explosives storage facility) Documentation for commissioning of other infrastructure objects is being obtained (fuel storage facility, camp, power system, storage facilities) Geologic audit by Wardell Armstrong is under way; site visit and data collection stages completed Rodnikovoe Geologic Report and Pre-feasibility Study approved by the Kamchatka Agency for Subsoil Use and submitted to the State Commission for Reserves in June
