3 Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) BENEFITS The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) was introduced in 2012 to encourage the use of renewable energy sources such as biomass. The incentive offers payments based on the kwhs of heat provided by your biomass system and so represents an excellent return on your investment. These heat cabins are the ideal and convenient way of installing a biomass heating system and can be used on most projects. 11

12 District Heating A district heating scheme allows farms and estates to link their biomass heating system across several properties or buildings. Underground insulated pipework provides these links and the biomass system can be configured to allow individual properties to be metered and billed separately. This form of network would work perfectly for offices, poultry sheds, swimming pools or any other building which requires a heat source. 12

Escos & Financing ESCOs Fully funded options If you are interested in biomass but don t feel able to raise the capital investment necessary then we can help with a fully financed ESCo (Energy Services Company) solution. If you opt for an ESCo model then we provide a fully managed service through our Service Plan. You receive the cost savings and environmental benefits against other fuels and pay an agreed amount for heat per kwh, billed on a quarterly basis. The biomass boiler and associated equipment remains the property of J L Phillips who retain the RHI payments. 15 The Project was installed over an eightweek period to enable the chicken shed to be cleared of stock and the new heating fan units to be installed.
