6 EXPERIENCE 6 Source Storage - Dams Spring Grove Dam Maguga Dam, Swaziland Spring Grove Dam situated outside the Town of Rosetta in KZN Midlands on the Mooi River. Water is transferred via a pipeline to the Mpofana River feeds Midmar Dam which in turn supplies the KZN coastal region The purpose of the weir is to provide sufficient storage to absorb the difference between releases from Maguga Dam for the purpose of hydropower generation and the releases required to satisfy the demand of downstream water users Raising Hazelmere Dam Wall KZN Balfour Dam, Mpumalanga Mass concrete dam wall using pre-cast units to form upstream and downstream faces

7 EXPERIENCE 7 Bulk Distribution - Pipelines Vresap Inlet Channel, Mpumalanga Vulindlela Bulk Water Supply Pipeline VRESAP is a water transfer scheme to abstract water from the Vaal Dam near Vaal Marina, and to pump the water via Knoppiesfontein to Bosjesspruit and Trichardsfontein dams near Secunda. The primary bulk consumers served by the project are Eskom and Sasol This contract formed part of the RDP Presidential Lead Project, for the supply of water to the communities of Vulindlela, West of Pietermaritzburg Vresap Pipeline Chlorine contact tank, all the interlinking pipe work, roads terracing, 9 pump stations, roads and terracing

8 EXPERIENCE 8 Bulk Storage - Reservoirs Lower Thukela Bulk Water Storage Scheme Lower Thukela Bulk Water Supply Scheme (Construction of Weir, Abstraction Works & Access Roads) Awards: Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Annual Regional Health and Safety Competition 2014 Overall Civil Award. This contract formed part of the RDP Presidential Lead Project, for the supply of water to the communities of Vulindlela, West of Pietermaritzburg. The contract comprises the construction of five reservoirs spread along approximately 15km of rising main Vulindlela Bulk Water Supply

9 EXPERIENCE 9 Potable Treatment Treatment Plants Olifantspoort Water Treatment Works Benoni Water Care Works The project involved the extension of the Olifantspoort Water Treatment Works from 30Ml/day to 60Ml/day Phase II. The aim being to increase the supply of portable water to the Polokwane City and associated villages along the 80km route. Temba Water Treatment Works The contract was for the construction of a new water care works to service the East Rand towns of Benoni, Boksburg and Daveyton. Waterval Water Treatment Works Construction of Earthworks, Civil Structures, Building, Overland Pipelines and Intake Works, including supply and installation of Mechanical, Electrical and associated process systems / commissioning. Existing ERWAT Waterval Waste Water Treatment Works

11 EXPERIENCE 11 Waste & Effluent Treatment Treatment Plants Northern Waste Water Works Darvill Waste Water Treatment Expansion of the Northern Wastewater Treatment Works Construction and installation of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and control & instrumentation upgrade of the an existing plant. Welgedacht Waste Water Treatment Sunderland Ridge Waste Water Treatment Construction of Lifting Station, Screening Channels, Balancing Tanks, Primary Sedimentation Tanks, Primary Sludge Screening and Pumping Station, BNR Activated Sludge Reactors, Clarifiers, Chemical Dosing Facilities, Chlorine Contact Tank, Digesters, Holding Tank and all associated Building& Earthworks. One of the two main sewage work plant upgrades undertook. Sunderland Ridge Wastewater Treatment Works is situated west of Centurion at the existing Tshwane Wastewater Treatment Works

Construction of monitoring shafts to monitor mining water levels Acid Mine Drainage [AMD] Central Basin Ghanzi Sanitation Works, Botswana Transformation of the existing town of Ghanzi to a waterborne sewage system, including 10 ha of oxidation ponds, 59km of piping in rock and 13 pumpstations

Recognising that environmental protection and economic sustainability go hand in hand, Group Five has made the protection of these natural resources a priority. The group specialises and has an international track record in the construction of sewage treatment plants, water purification works, pipelines, dams and reservoirs for both the public and private sectors.

It is strategically targeting water demand management and water waste through leaking infrastructure as well as growing the installation of sanitation services throughout the region
