2 ENVIRONMENTAL DECLARATION Company: Hajom Skjutdörrar AB Product: Lift and slide door Swedish Institute for Wood Technology Research Publication no. 0406XXX Environmental declaration in accordance with Sirii The company Hajom Skjutdörrar AB, Hajom, Sweden Tel. +46 (0) , Fax. +46 (0) Website: Contact: Anders Ekström Environmental work The company is obliged to obtain permits pursuant to the Swedish Environmental Protection Act and abides by the applicable requirements. Meets the OHAS requirements for internal checks. Products The environmental declaration applies to a Type A lift & slide door measuring 2.98 m x 2.12 m, with one opening section and one fixed section with triple-glazed insulating glass. The door is constructed with an arch and frame of lamellar glued pine and iroko hardwood sills. The door is intended for use as a section of an external wall next to terraces in houses and public buildings, for example. Technical properties U-factor W/m 2 Glass section... % Rw... db RA, tr... db Daylight transmittance... % Frame depth... mm Weight, approx kg The pine used is from forests in Northern Sweden. (PEFC or FSC labelled). Imported hardwood comes exclusively from cultivated forests. At the sawmill, the timber is sawn and dried to a moisture content of 8 12%. The glued elements for the wood details of the door are made at the company s own window factory or purchased as finished units. The window factory performs the moulding, processing and impregnation of the wood details. Vacuum impregnation is performed at Tanum Fönster in Tanumshede, Sweden. The finished wood details are surface treated with topcoat and clad with metal. The surface treatment and impregnation processes release volatile substances that are largely destroyed through catalytic purification. The furnaces at the factory generate emissions of flue gases such as carbon dioxide and nitrous oxides (NOx). Carbon dioxide from the combustion of biofuel a renewable resource makes no added contribution to the greenhouse effect. 4 Environmental performance The environmental declaration applies to a top-coated Type A lift & slide door measuring 2.98 m x 2.12 m manufactured in Hajom. The declaration comprises all major stages from the of natural resources to the point when the product leaves the factory grounds. For the use phase, a pollution emission figure is stated for the heat losses through the door during its 30-year service life, based on electrical heating. Inventoried data apply to production in Allocation of environmental impact to different products in the production process has been based on value. 5 Extract from Swan labelling of small buildings Nordic Environmental Labelling Dur able wood The requirement applies to all processed wood, such as wood for façade material, terraces, verandas, stairs, railings, windows, doors, etc. O1. Classification of chemical products for the treatment of wood The wood must not be impregnated, modified or treated with chemical products that are classified as carcinogens (R45, R49, R40), harmful to reproduction (R60, R61, R62, R63) or damaging to the gene pool (R46, R68), according to the regulations concerning the classification and labelling of hazardous chemicals in any Nordic country and/or in the EU classification system 1999/45/EC (with additions and amendments). Wood marked with the Swan Label in accordance with the criteria for Durable/sustainable wood version 1 or later meets this requirement. Pl astic O3. Plastic products Chlorinated plastic must not be used for interior floor, wall and ceiling coverings (does not apply to wet rooms). Windows must not contain more than 3% PVC. Design of and work methodology for the environmental declaration according to Sirii have been carried out under Sirii (Swedish Industrial Institute s Initiative). The participating institutes were Framkom verksamhetsutveckling AB, IFP Swedish Institute for Fibre and Polymer Research, IVF Industriforskning AB, IVL Svenska miljöinstitutet AB and the Swedish Institute for Wood Technology Research. This environmental declaration was compiled on by Joakim Norén. ISSN Trätek. Report from the producer of impregnated wood confirming compliance with the requirement, see Appendix 6. Safety data sheet must be attached. O2. Active substances in impregnated wood Active substances must not be based on arsenic, chrome, tin-organic compounds, boron or creosote oil. Wood marked with the Swan Label in accordance with the criteria for Durable/sustainable wood version 1 or later meets this requirement. Report from the producer of impregnated wood confirming compliance with the requirement, see Appendix 6.
