Development of dedicated tools to study the complex interaction among different solutions A dynamic simulation environment with modular structure based on Trnsys software. It aims at: Evaluating interactions among building systems Developing and testing a comprehensive control Assessing energy performance

NATURAL VENTILATION GREEN INTEGRATION / COATINGS ARTFICIAL AND DAY-LIGHTING HVAC ELECTRIC MOBILITY Integrative Modelling Environment - + REFRIGERATION SYSTEM PV + EL. STORAGE SHOPPING CENTER SOLAR SYSTEM MAIN CONTROL

ibems scope A comprehensive solution that includes the management (monitoring of energy performance, automation) for the entire shopping center plants To provide a customized interface (local / remote) for the different stakeholders To fulfill the requirements of the EN15232 standard allowing to reach the class A in the Building Automation energy efficiency, maintaining an high level of comfort for the occupants

ibems applications Lighting. Coordinate natural contribution, the Daylight system and Artificial Lights, with an high level of granularity Thermal comfort. Balance the contribution of HVAC plants, food refrigeration, solar thermal and natural ventilation to optimize efficiency and comfort Local electric microgrid. Manage the energy flows between PV plant, batteries for storage, building needs and BIEM (Building Integrated Electrical Mobility)

Temperature [ C] Opening factor [-] ibems applications Automated skylight openings for enhanced stack ventilation Natural ventilation active Tout Tin - 1st floor Tin - ground floor Tin - attic floor 3K /08 22/08 23/08 24/08 25/08 26/08 27/08 28/08 29/08 30/08 31/08 01/09 02/09 03/09 04/09 05/09 06/09 1 0,9 0,8 0,7 0,6 0,5 0,4 0,3 0,2 0,1 Demo case City Syd, Trondheim Measured data Source: ibems, Schneider

People Movements Tracking Improves customer experience. Knowing the number of people (real time, historical) in the different areas help to reduce waiting time at cash lines, optimize comfort Helps the Store Manager in studying distribution of people in space and time, to organize activities, ensure safety and plan advertising Contributes to efficiency, optimizing the use of resources in function of people needs

Light-tube as daylight system in retail This technology opens the possibility to use daylight in shops. Integrated shading device and artificial lighting system allow to control the amount of light trough a BMS.

Modular roof with daylighting elements Project-specific planning by a mixture of suitable daylighting elements Freedom in number of specific elements and position >> reaction to environmental conditions and indoor requirements Available elements: - Solar shading grid - Solar harvesting grid - Sun protection grid (mirror inside, PV outside) - Sunscreen

Hybrid LED Spot Floor mounting with mirror High efficiency (88 %) LED Spot Visual comfort enhanced by secondary light distribution Combination with daylighting systems Controlled by BMS through DALI

General Retail Lighting (GRL) High efficiency (86 %) LED luminaire with adjustable light colour through DALI protocol Glare reduction realized with background illumination (researched by BLL) 7 micro downlights create light output equivalent to a 150 Watt metal halogen lamp Application in the Modena and Trondheim demo cases

LED Retail Wall-Washer High efficency (72 %) LED Wall-washer with adjustable light colour Glare reduction, LED spots not directly visible Light spot dissection/dissemination Downlight functionality 7 mico reflectors create output equivalent to a 70 watt metal halogen lamp Application in the Trondheim demo case

BIEM Building Integrated Electric Mobility User recognition. Use of contactless card to enable charging, bill the costs or apply a promotional campaign. Energy Storage. Maximize the use of PV energy with an efficient storage, using different battery technologies Local microgrid. Optimize the energy flows between BIEM, batteries and building, reducing costs and enabling the future creation of a Local Energy Community

Technology and use Solar PV Load: Peak-shaving for EV chargers Solar energy stored in the Nilar battery energy storage Thanks to a smart Battery Management System (BMS), the user can be sure to have an effective, safe and reliable flow of renewable energy.

Natural refrigerant: refrigeration systems Feltre LPT: R744transcritical + low pressure tank. UKLaboratory: Transcritical heat recovery system for domestic hotwater. Modena demo case Agreed TSC system with active heating production and coupling with existing chiller for subcooling; Variable speed fan in LT cabinet; Gas cooler; Integrated control for sub-cooling with Schneider ibems for holistic approach.
