2 NATIONAL VISION By 2030, Mongolia will Become one of the leading MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRIES by per capita income; Have a diversified sustainable economy; Eradicate income inequality and have a majority of its population with average and higher levels of income; Maintain its pristine natural environment and sustainable ecology; Promote sustainable democratic governance.

3 ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS The main environmental concerns in are: Desertification: climate change, water shortage, land use changes Climate change: drought, habitat reduction Gobi: overgrazing, mining and the illegal collection of plants, climate change leading to habitat fragmentation Impacts of mining River water quality: mining, urban pollution, sedimentation, overfishing, illegal fishing Bird diversity: Overgrazing, illegal logging, hinting, trapping, rodenticides

4 POLICY PRIORITIES AND POLICY TOOLS Sustainable development policy priorities: Sustainable economic development: agriculture, energy, roads and transportation, mining, industry, and ICT Sustainable social development: inclusive growth and poverty reduction, education, and social protection Sustainable environment: integrated water management, increased access to quality water, sanitation and hygiene, better adaptation to climate change, and reduction of GHG emissions Sustainable governance: accountable and capable governance structure, elimination of corruption, and participatory society and public private partnership (PPP)
