3 Applicatins Micr Drum Filters riginate frm the fish farming industry, which requires is a cnstant take in f clean water. Envirnmental regulatins made n the effluent f such farms bligate the use f these filters t clean waste water, which lads f rganic matter, such as fd rests, fish drppings, scales etc. Nwadays the applicatin f the Micr Drum Filter has expanded t ther area s. 4 Brief prcess descriptin The liquid, mixed with slid particles, flws int the drum thrugh the inlet flange ( ). The Micr Drum Filter cntains a rtating drum, equipped with variable netting that filters the slid particles frm the liquid. Thrugh the utlet flange ( ) the clean liquid flws further int the prcess. With the use f a cleaning element dirt is remved frm inside the drum. Slid particles are cllected and dispsed thrugh a sludge cnveyr screw ( ). The sludge cnveyr screw is cnnected directly t the drum transmissin. Dewatering insert is ptinal (see pht 4). 6 Cntrl system The cntrl f the Auxill Micr Drum Filter is lcated in a stainless steel Rittal Bx (see pht 6). The prcessr in the cntrl cabinet is cntrlled by a signal frm a pressure sensr, standard manufactured by IFM (see pht 7, an alternative manufactured by Vega). Pht 6 Pht 7 During the rtatin f the Micr Drum Filter with Flender reductr (see pht 5) the nzzles clean the screen frm the utside using high-pressure spraying. The screw inside the cllectr transprts the slid ut. This prcess will lwer the level until al lw level has been reached. The drum and the pump will cntinue t clean fr abut 10 t 20 secnds befre it stps. The pump, fabricated by Calpeda (see pht 10), prduces a water pressure f 5-6 bar r bar intended fr the sprayers. Water is sucked frm the bttm f the Micr Drum Filter. This water has already been filtered by the. Installing the levels take int accunt the pump des nt run dry. Spray pressure mnitring The Suc pressure transmitter (see pht 8) cntrls the water pressure n the spray bar. Prper peratin f the spray bar is very imprtant. This can nly be guaranteed if the screen is cleaned rderly. A clgged nzzle can cause capacity prblems. Blckage can thus be identified early. Grstraat HG Detinchem telefn: inf@auxill.nl 5

8 Level cntrl The IFM pressure sensr gives a signal if the level des nt decrease, fr example due t extreme circumstances during the cleaning prcess, and keeps n rising even, it will reach high level. At this pint the supply will be reduced r entirely clsed, until the liquid has reduced t a lwer level by means f the cleaning prcess. When it reaches a lwer level, the supply can be pened again. The filter has been designed and built in such a manner it requires nly a minimum f maintenance. Visual inspectin althugh is required every six mnths.
