6 What about the Slowdown? CO 2 EOR Project Growth Continued During A Decade of Low, Flat Oil Prices

7 What is New in CO2 EOR? First EOR Storage Project Approved by EPA: Oxy s Denver Unit in West Texas Permian Basin. Next Generation Methods: For example-- Utilization of greater volumes of CO2 (1-1.5 HCPVs) with reservoir surveillance and improved sweep conformance. Horizontal drilling next. ROZ Commercialization: Naturally water flooded zones with remaining oil saturation below the main pay zone (MPZ). Recoverable with CO2 EOR methods. Greenfield ROZ: ROZ Production where there is no main pay zone oil production. DUROZ: Depressure Upper ROZ to stimulate O&G ROZ 7 Photos: B Hill, CATF.

10 10 Update on ROZ Development -as of February individual projects underway in 8 different fields. Deployment of ROZ floods continues despite low oil prices. All ROZ projects are in the Permian Basin using CO 2 EOR technology to flood the ROZ of the dolomitic San Andres Formation. K-M is successfully flooding a Greenfield, that is, a pure ROZ where no main pay zone (MPZ).

11 11 ROZ Fairway Map West TEXAS Permian Basin Fairways are mapped petrogenetically (geologically) related ROZ formation zones. Oil resources may occur in these fairways regardless of whether there is a MPZ.

18 This is about CCUS! ROZ and Next-Generation EOR Will Require and Store Billions of Tonnes of CO2. The 4 Counties of the Permian Basin alone will utilize and store 7 GT CO2. 19 The Full Potential of US CO2 EOR Cannot Be Realized Without Captured CO2. Currently, there is Limited CO2 Supply in the West Texas Permian Basin. In China, Where There is No Naturally Sourced EOR will Require 100% Captured CO2.
