3 Summary Report, 2012 The Town of Iroquois Falls Water Works Department is presenting the 2012 Summary Report to the Municipal Council of The Town of Iroquois Falls. Ontario Regulation 170/03 (Schedule 22), requires that we provide this report for the previous calendar year. Here you will find a summary of the system failures, system capabilities, water quantity data, and other information collected during For further information related to the, please contact: Mike Kearns Director of Public Works 535 Ambridge Drive Iroquois Falls, Ont. P.O. Box 430 P0K 1G0 Telephone # Basic System Information: The Iroquois Falls Well System went into production in The groundwater system draws water from three areas. The main production well (Well #1) and a standby well (#4) are located on Monteith Road. Wells located on Brousseau Road (Well #2) and Highway 67 (Well #3) provide additional capacity to the system. The groundwater from Well #1 (or #4) pumped to the Brousseau Road Pumphouse (#2). ENV Pyro 50 is added at this point to sequester the iron and manganese. Sodium Hypochlorite is added at both the Brousseau Road and Hwy 67 pump houses. All water is mixed at the Water Plant on Highway 67. Water is then pumped into the distribution system, and any excess is stored in the municipal water standpipe located north of Anson Drive, west of Victoria Road.

4 Water Supply Capacity: The Amended C. of A. rates the Water Plant at a maximum flow rate of 60.5 L/s (5,227 m 3 /day). The Water Plant and wells #1/#4, #2 and #3 were operated below the maximum allowable flow rates. The Monthly average and maximum daily flows can be found in Appendix A. Comments: Extensive testing confirms that the Municipality provided safe drinking water. A summary of test results is contained in the 2012 Annual Report. Ontario Regulation 170/03 requires that the owner of a Large Municipal Residential system sample and test for organic and inorganic parameters every 36 months, if the system obtains water from a raw water supply that is groundwater. A summary of test results is contained in the 2012 Annual Report. Non-Compliance with Regulatory Requirements There was one incident in the Iroquois Falls Drinking Water System in 2012 pertaining to low chlorine residual in the service line to the waste water treatment plant. Operators responded by testing chlorine residual in the main at the sampling station on Argyle Ave. This test proved that proper disinfection was maintained in the water main. Site Inspections A drinking water inspection was conducted on May 30, 2012 by the Ministry of the Environment. Best Practice Issues were identified during the inspection. The actual Best Practice issues and Recommendations are identified below. Ontario Ministry of the Environment Inspection Rating is included below.
