10 Production of heat and electricity LEADER IN HIGH EFFICIENT COMBINED HEAT AND POWER GENERATION Installed capacity of 260 MW (Heat) Installed capacity of 96 MW (Electricity) Yearly production of over 400,000 MWh of heat Yearly production of over 330,000 MWh of electricity 10 High efficient combined heat and power production (cogeneration) is the core business of GGE. We own and operate heat and electricity generation facilities fueled by environmentaly friendly fuels (mostly natural gas and biomass) and we produce 100% of the energy by cogeneration. Combined production of heat and power reduces primary fuel consumption, minimizes the overall costs of heat and power generation from a single fuel and helps preserving the environment.

11 Thanks to the state-of-the-art, efficient and flexible cogeneration technologies and gas-powered units that we use, we can provide our municipal and industrial clients with clean, elegant and cost-saving solutions for energy supply with the upside of decreased emissions. More efficient and more environmentally friendly production is one of the key reasons why GGE is the preferred partner for both municipal and industrial sectors. We have assembled the most progressive technology for installing the new combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) at our Považská Bystrica plant and we promote the use of the most advanced technologies in all our projects. 11

We are also active in building and operating our own local distribution networks by which we supply gas, electricity and water. Furthermore, we operate non-public water pipes and sewerage. 12

13 GGE is positioned as one of the leaders in heat supply for municipalities (households) and industrial clients in its home market in Slovakia. We also distribute natural gas to our clients used for heating and manufacturing their products as well as for preparing hot water. Likewise, we distribute electricity using 22kV and 0.4kV distribution voltages by operating our own equipment for which we also provide maintenance services. Through our local distribution networks, we maintain operations even in case of blackouts as our generators are independent from the grid. 13

Elgas focuses on gas and electricity sales not only on Slovak liberalized market but also in other countries of Central and Eastern Europe (Slovakia, Serbia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland). Our experience from the liberalization of the Slovak energy market, which is still to come in some countries where Elgas is present, provides us with a sound competitive advantage when expanding and gaining presence in countries with the liberalization process on its way.

17 For our industrial and municipal clients, we provide complete EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services and execute turnkey projects using the most advanced know-how and technologies. Our services include problem identification audits, resulting in energy saving suggestions, followed by preparation of the project documentaion, up to its realization and execution. We also provide support in financing of these projects. We have realized a number of projects involving the installation of combined heat and power generating units, modernization of energy sources, including switching to a different fuel base or a complete upgrade and modernization of energy generation and distribution systems. 17

Complete upgrade of the energy production system. Supply of new gas-powered boilers, low-emission burners, heat exchange stations. Construction and installation of a dispatching centre and of new cogeneration units (total installed output of 3.13 MWe). 18 Dunajská Streda (Slovakia) Modernization of the energy production system. Repair of the heat ducts and heat exchanger stations, construction and installation of new cogeneration units (total installed output of 5.51 MWe). Snina (Slovakia) Complete upgrade of the enegry production system including change of the fuel base (coal replaced by woodchips). Replacement of heat ducts and insulation, heat exchangers, and construction of the dispatching centre. Construction and installation of new cogeneration units (total installed output of 3.12 MWe).
