10 Refits In 1997 the Sirius arrives to Arenys de Mar, after staying a lot of years in the Barcelona harbour, without any activity and with a big deterioration. From that moment, the refit project starts by making drawings, plans and works planning. Obviously, the first thing to do was cleaning all the yacht structure. All the exterior lining was dismounted, deck and hull, in order to check the status of the frames and floors. Almost most of them were changed. All the structural bulkheads, aprox. the 95%, were also changed. Once the structure was completely refitted, the hull and deck refitting began. The process started by sandblasting all the surface and, after that, all the area was protected with epoxy primers. The bow thruster was also installed. 3 years and a half were spent for all this process. In 2002, is decided to change all the masts and rigging, to install new main engine, generator, charge system and electric installation, steering and bow thruster hydraulic system, new anchor windlass and captive winch. In 2003, the boat was painted and then the installation of the isolation panels, doors, port lights and practicable hatch for the engine room began. In 2005, the interior drawings were made in order to adapt the boat for a restaurant or a private use. From then onwards... the boat remains in Varador 2000 waiting for solutions. 23 / 07 / i n va ra d o r2 o o o.c o m w ww. va ra d o r2 o o o.c o m 10
