1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Preamble Ordinary Sand is base of all types of Building works, Construction of Road, Construction of Cement Concrete road and infrastructure. The need of Ordinary Sand is in all fields are very essential as it is a compulsory material for all types of construction, and Industries fields, Ordinary Sand Mines are providing employments to the local Labour in Rural area, as the labour of rural area have no any work for labour, They are Unemployed, Thus this Existing mine is providing work to many labours and it is a good employment. 2.0 Executive Summary Rajeshbhai Bhagubhai Patel is an existing mine, as the demand of construction material in all sectors are highly necessary, and this project will provide and try to fulfil major demands of Ordinary Sand in complete around area. About hectare of land is under possession Rajeshbhai Bhagubhai Patel At, Village : Panchlai, Taluka :Pardi, Dist : Valsad. As per the statuary obligation this project needs environmental clearance from department of Environment and forest dept. ( GPCB) Gujarat. it is Existing lease and to start quarrying operations (production) Accordingly project proponent has submitted form 1, pre-feasibility report and copy of Approval letter from department of mines and geology Gujarat, to the state level environmental assessment authority of Gujarat constituted by MOEF, GOI for issuing environmental clearance, as per EIA, September notification but the term of S.E.A.C. and S.E.I.A.A. of Gujarat is expired in july Introduction of the Project/Background information : 3.1 Name of the Existing unit : Rajeshbhai Bhagubhai Patel Registered Office : Rajeshbhai Bhagubhai Patel 3

At & Post : Panchlai Ta: Pardi, Dist: Valsad. Location of Existing unit : Village : Panchlai, Par Nadi Paiky, sr. no. 282 Ne Lagu, Taluka : Pardi Dist : Valsad. (Gujarat) Name of Owner : Rajeshbhai Bhagubhai Patel 3.2 Brief description of nature of the project : It is an existing plan of Ordinary Sand Quarrying, it will contains Ordinary Sand which will be used in construction of infrastructures and road, railways and building construction etc. 3.3 Demand - Supply Gap : As sand is used as raw material in construction of building and infrastructure projects, the demand of sand is increasing day by day. In past, demand was not too much but now a days due to rapid industrialization and urbanization its demand increasing with pace of time. At present, demand of sand is more than the supply. 3.4 Imports vs. Indigenous Production : In Valsad of Gujarat, a number of sand mines are there. There is abundance of sand in the area; it had become a major source of economy in the area/region. 3.5 Export Possibility : There is ban on sand export to other states in the Gujarat by Private so export possibility of river sand from this area is nil. Major consumers of sand located almost in nearby areas in the district. 4

3.6 Domestic / Export Markets : Sand produced is used locally as well as circulated in nearby area. So clearly there is a huge market of sand in the area. 3.7 Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project : By this mining project of river sand in the area, peoples get employment, The project directly generates the employment for the local people and indirectly for the others. Also the marketing of the product generates the employment for peoples. By this project, approximately Skilled labours-3 and Unskillled 10 to 15 labours on project site. 4.0 Project Description : 4.1 Type of project including interlinked and interdependent project if any : No others material is interlinked with this mining work. 4.2 Location (map showing general location, specific location and project boundary & project site layout) with co-ordinates : The area has been marked on Google map including the mining lease location. This comprises the mining lease area near village :Panchlai, Taluka : Pardi, Dist: Valsad of Gujarat location of the mining lease is as under. 5

The geographical location of the project is as follows : N 0 E '6.04"N 73 10'55.40"E 4.3 Details of alternate sites, considered and the basis of selecting the existing site, particularly the environmental considerations gone into should be highlighted : No other site is considered for the existing project. The land has been allocated by government for the mining only. As sand in the river is replenished every year by river so, site is adequate for sand mining. 4.4 Size or magnitude of operation : B category manual. The existing capacity / year 3,000 TPA. Total area of mining lease is Ha. The mining operation will 3,000 Tonne Production of River sand per annum. 4.5 Project description with process details (a schematic diagram/flow chart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. is given below: Open cast mining Fencing OB removal Loading 7

Transportation to end use 4.6 Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final products. Mode of transport of raw materials And finished products : No raw material is required during the mining process. 4.7 Resource optimization / recycling and reuse envisaged in the project. If any, should be briefly outlined : As a result of extraction of mineral, the rate of recharging of ground water is likely to be increased considerably. 4.8 Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given : Total water requirement in the mine will be about 3.0 KLD for drinking & domestic use, dust suppression and plantation. Drinking water will be available by water tanker from nearby village Panchlai. Diesel will be used in dumpers and tractors. Nearby village Panchlai is well electrified. 4.9 Quantity of wastes to generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their Management/disposal : No waste will be generated. All the material is saleable Schematic representations of the feasibility drawing which give information of EIA purpose : 8

According to MOEF mining project containing area 5 Ha. are considered in category B 2. Schematic representations of the feasibility is as under. Project Concept and Site selection Form 1 pre-feasibility project report with existing TOR to MOEF (EAC) Scoping by SEAC (site visit by sub group of SEAC, if necessary ategory B 2 - EIA not required Appraisal and recommended by SEAC Approval by SEIAA Display on the SPCB/UTPCC website & project proponent website 5.0 Site Analysis : 5.1 Connectivity : Mine site is well connected with road transport.
