5 I. Basic information II. Activity 1. 6 1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and building? There is no vegetation and building in this project lease applied area, hence there is no requirement of clearing the vegetation and building. There is an existing road leads to the quarry. This has 5m carriage way width. 1.3 Creation of new land uses? The total quarrying activity is proposed to carry out within the quarry lease applied area. Hence, there is no proposal for creating of new land uses. Temporary approach road within the project area will be form for the easy access of men and machinery which will be well maintained. The excavated rough stone will be directly loaded into tipper to the needy crusher and Gravel to needy customers for road project and construction works for filling and leveling of low lying areas. 1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? The massive Charnockite formation is clearly inferred followed by the 1m (Avg) Gravel formation, hence pre-construction investigation and soil testing is not proposed before quarrying operation. 1.5 Construction works? Yes 1.6 Demolition works? There will be no major civil works, other than the following infrastructure: office building, storeroom, toilet and first aid room will be provided on permanent structures within the quarry lease applied area in the safety barrier. After the grant of lease. There are no existing building within the lease applied area hence no demolition work is involved. 1.7 Temporary sites used for construction works or housing of construction Yes Sites service on permanent structure will be constructed only after grant of quarry lease within 7.5m safety barrier. 1.8 Above ground buildings, structures or Earthworks including linear structures, cut and fill or excavations There are no tall buildings or linear structure found within the quarry site. There is no requirement of cutting and filling in the site.

7 1.9 Underground works including mining or tunneling? 1.10 Reclamation works? 1.11 Dredging? 1.12 Offshore structures? Open cast method of semi mechanized quarrying will be adopted. underground mining or tunneling is proposed. There is no reclamation works is proposed. In the proposed mining plan only a maximum depth of 11m below the Ground level, has been envisaged as workable depth for safe & economic mining during the lease period. Hence, after quarry reaches ultimate pit limit (for this lease period) of 11m depth below the Ground level, fencing will be constructed around the quarried pits to prevent inherent entry of the public and cattle. There is no such type of activities involved in this opencast method of semi mechanized quarrying operation. There is no such type of activities involved; It is an inland quarrying project Production and manufacturing processes? production or manufacturing is involved in this Rough Stone and Gravel quarrying. The Rough Stone and Gravel is liberated from the parent rock mass and transported to the needy crusher/other buyers Facilities for storage of goods or materials? There is no proposal for storage of material within the quarry lease area. The Rough Stone and Gravel will be loaded directly to the tippers and transported to needy crusher/other buyers.

8 1.15 Facilities for treatment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents? The entire quarried Rough Stone and Gravel will be consumed. The anticipated waste will be very negligible the entire Rough Stone and Gravel irrespective of size has a good commercial market at present market scenario. Domestic waste water will be treated in Septic Tank followed by soak pit. The manure will be treated and used for green belt development. The Rough Stone and Gravel will not produce toxic effluence in the form of solid, liquid or gas. waste water will be discharged by quarry operation Facilities for long term housing of operational workers? The proposed project is Ha for a period of five years only. The minimum employees are available in the nearby villages, hence long term housing of operational workers are not proposed. Rest shelter will be constructed on permanent structure within the lease area on boundary barrier after the grant of quarry lease New road, rail or sea traffic during construction or operation? new roads, rail or sea traffic is proposed during operation, the existing road will be utilized for transportation of the Rough Stone and Gravel. There is no habitations or villages en-route between the stone quarry to the needy customers. However, internal roads within the quarry lease applied area will be developed and maintained. As per statutory norms 1.18 New road, rail, air waterborne or other transport infrastructure including new or altered routes and stations, ports, airports etc.? There is no such type of activities involved in this project. Existing road will be utilized for the transportation of The excavated rough stone and Gravel will be directly loaded into tipper to the Customer / other buyers for road project and construction works for filling and leveling of low lying areas.

9 1.19 Closure or diversion of existing transport routes or infrastructure leading to changes in traffic movements? The project will not cause any changes and hindrance in the existing traffic movements. There is no a habitation or villages en-route between the stone quarry to the nearby Customer / other buyers New or diverted transmission lines or pipelines? The project does not involve diversion of transmission/pipe lines Impoundment, damming, culverting, realignment or other changes to the hydrology of watercourses or aquifers? The quarry operation is proposed upto a depth of 11mfrom below the ground level. Hence the quarrying operation may not affect the ground water. Ground water occurrence in this area is 40m in summer and 35m in rainy seasons. Hence there is no damage for ground water hydrology or aquifers Stream crossings? Abstraction or transfers of water from ground or surface waters? Changes in water bodies or the land surface affecting drainage or run-off? There is no stream crossing within the lease applied area. The proposed quarrying does not require any abstraction or transfer of water from the Ground or surface water bodies. The quarry operation is restricted up to a depth of 11mbelow the Ground level. Quarry operation will not affect the drainage pattern of the lease applied area. There is no change in water bodies or the land surface affected during run off Transport of personnel or materials for construction, operation or decommissioning? During operation phase, after grant of lease quarrying personnel will be brought from surrounding villages by applicant s jeep or van. The materials and tools shall be transported by trucks and tippers, the existing road and infrastructure facilities are sufficient. construction operation or decommissioning envisaged Long-term dismantling or decommissioning or restoration works? Dismantling and decommissioning is proposed in this project.

10 Ongoing activity during decommissioning which could have an impact on the environment? Influx of people to an area in either temporarily or permanently? Yes There is no such type of activities involved in this project. During operational phase, the manpower requirement will be around 12 peoples will be directly and 9 peoples will be indirectly benefit to this project. Local people are envisaged in this quarry operation. Inherent entry of public will be strictly prevented. child labor will be deployed for any type of quarrying operation. All the labors engaged for quarrying operations will be trained, equipped with protective devices and insured till the end of life of quarry Introduction of alien species? 1.30 Loss of native species or genetic diversity? 1.31 Any other actions? There will be no loss of native species or genetic diversity taken during the quarry operation as the lease area is devoid of Plantation, vegetation and agriculture. Temporary approach road will be formed and maintain within the lease area. Tippers will be transport the Rough Stone and Gravel is to Customer / other buyers by existing road. (already in good condition) long term dismantling or decommissioning is involved in this project. This project is sites specific and may not have any significant impact on the environment.

Please refer annexure no IV and VII. The area applied for quarry lease is exhibits almost plain topography covered by Gravel formation. The massive Charnockite formation is clearly inferred followed by the 1m (Avg) Gravel and gentle sloping towards southeastern side of the area, the altitude of the area is above 188m (maximum) from MSL The project does not require huge water for quarrying operation, about 1 KLD of water will be used for the project.(more than 5 L/Person) 1. Drinking Water 0.3KLD & Domestic purpose 2. Dust Suppression 0.3 KLD 3. Green belt KLD Total 1 KLD 0.3 KLD of Packaged Drinking water will be brought from the approved water vendors in Meyyur Village which is about 2.0km on rthern side of the area. Water for dust suppression and Green belt development around 0.3 KLD & 0.4 KLD. Total requirement for the project is around 1KLD. minerals used for construction purposes.

12 2.4 Construction material - Stone, aggregates, and/soil (expected source-mt) The proposed Rough Stone and Gravel quarry project does not require any construction material. This project itself is to produce Rough Stone and Gravel. 2.5 Forests and timber (source- MT) There is no forests and timber (source MT) 2.6 Energy including electricity and fuels (source, competing users) unit: fuel (MT),Energy (MW) Yes The limited scale of activities adopted in Rough Stone and Gravel quarrying does not require high-tension electric power supply. The quarrying operation is only for daytime. The electricity will be used only for mine office and lighting around the quarry during night time. The existing electric line near the quarry site will be used. Fuels are used for operating machineries and vehicles during quarrying process and transportation. Fuel required for this project life is about 23,650Liters of HSD for entire project life. 2.7 Any other natural resources (use appropriate standard units) other natural resource will be required. 3. Use, storage, transport, handling or production of substances or materials, which could be harmful to human health or the environment or raise concerns about actual or perceived risks to human health. S. Information/Checklist confirmation Yes/ Details thereof (with approximate quantities/rates, wherever possible) with sources of information data 3.1 Use of substances or materials, which are hazardous (as per MSIHC rules) to human health or the environment (flora, fauna, and water supplies) There is no proposal for storage, handling or transportation of any hazardous materials or substances as per MSIHC rules in this Rough Stone and Gravel quarry project.

13 3.2 Changes in occurrence of disease or affect disease vectors (e.g. insect or water borne diseases) The Rough Stone and Gravel does not produce any toxic effluent in the form of solid, liquid and gas, hence the diseases related to insect or water borne diseases is not envisaged. There is no proposal of storage of water inside the project area. The seepage water and rain water will be drained immediately by 5HP pumps and it will be used for Green Belt Development and for dust suppression on haul and quarry roads. 3.3 Affect the welfare of people e.g. by changing living conditions? Welfare of people will get positive change due to the project, where a number of Welfare activities are being undertaken. Due to increase of the employment earning of local people and lifestyle of the people will enhance, around 12peoples will be directly and 9 peoples will be indirectly benefit to this project. child labor will be engaged for any type of quarrying operation. All the labor will be insured and the salary and benefits will be paid as per the Labor enforcement officers (Ministry of labor and welfare) rms. 3.4 Vulnerable groups of people who could be affected by the project e.g. hospital patients, children s, the elderly etc., There is no effect envisaged for the vulnerable groups of people who could be affected by the project. The Rough Stone and Gravel will be transported to the needy crusher/other buyers by tarpaulin cover to prevent spillage. 3.5 Any other causes There is no other cause are envisaged.

Better maintenance of equipment in good condition will help to reduce such emissions. Dust is the main pollutant produced in the proposed activity. Emission from loading, drilling and blasting but they will be maintained within limits by proper maintenance and sprinkling of water and Afforestation developments. Tarpaulin covers will be covered in vehicles during transportation. Fugitive dust will be generated from material handling activities. Dust suppression by water sprinklers will be provided to prevent the fugitive dust emissions during loading. Tarpaulin covers will be covered in vehicles during transportation. 5.4 Emissions form construction activities including plant and equipment major construction activities are envisaged. It s an Eco friendly quarrying operation. 5.5 Dust or odors form handling of materials including construction materials, sewage and waste Minor Dust will be generated during breaking of rocks, transportation of Rough Stone and Gravel and it will be controlled. However, there is no possibility of any odor generation as there are no organic solvents/processes involved. 5.6 Emissions from incineration of waste The Rough Stone and Gravel quarrying does not produce any toxic effluent. 5.7 Emissions from burning of waste in open air (e.g. slash materials, construction debris) There is no such type of activities involved in this quarry project.

16 5.8 Emissions from any other sources Emissions from other sources are not envisaged. The noise level at site will be maintained below permissible limit. Measures like lubrication & preventive maintenance shall be taken to control noise from the machineries. The vibration during the moment of machinery will be minimal for a short span that will be well within the prescribed limits. There is no proposal of processing plant. construction or demolition work takes place. The quarrying activity will be carried out blasting for shattering effect and loosen the Rough Stone and Gravel. However, controlled blasting measures will be adopted for minimizing ground vibration. The transport of Rough Stone and Gravel through tippers can produce noise but are maintained within permissible limits, by keeping machinery in proper condition as per RTO & TNPCB rms and maintenance under experience and qualified mechanics. 6.6 From lighting or cooling systems The quarry operation will be carried out at the day time only hence the lighting and cooling systems are not required.

17 6.7 From any other sources This quarrying project is site specific which is operated by jackhammer drilling and limited blasting; hydraulic excavators are used for loading the Rough Stone hence external power other than HSD is not involved in this project. 7. Risks of contamination of land or water from releases of pollutants into the ground or into sewers, surface water, ground water, coastal water or the sea: Details thereof (with approximate Information/Checklist Yes/ quantities/rates, wherever possible) confirmation with sources of information data S. 7.1 From handling, Storage, use or spillage of hazardous materials hazardous materials will be used in the process. Oiling and lubrication of hauling vehicles will be done by using oil tray to prevent spillage of oil. Regular sprinkling of water will suppress dust at points/places of generation. 7.4 From any other sources An efficient and effective management plan is proposed for the project; hence it may not have any significant impact on the surrounding environment. 7.5 Is there a risk of long term buildup of pollutants in the environment from these sources? such type of activities not involved in this quarry.

18 8.Risk of accidents during construction or operation of the project, which could affect human health or the environment Details thereof (with approximate S. The explosive materials will be brought from authorized explosive license holder during blasting. There is no proposal of storage of explosives after the grant of quarry lease. The risks of accidents are envisaged in quarry operations, failure of quarry pit slopes, excavators, tipper movement, etc. However, all safety measures shall be taken to prevent any accidents. The quarrying activities will be monitored under the supervision of experienced and qualified competent mines foreman. 8.3 Could the project be affected by natural disasters causing environmental damage (e.g. floods, Earthquakes, landslides, cloudburst etc.)? There is no Earthquake, floods, Landslides, cloud burst recorded in the lease applied area. It s an opencast quarrying, hence this project could not affect severely due to the natural disasters.

The land does not used after the completion of quarrying operation the fencing will be constructed around the quarried pits to prevent the inherent entry of public and cattle. 9.3 Set a precedent for later developments A better after use scenario with increase in greenery, besides the quarried out pit will act as a temporary reservoir which will enhance the static level of the Ground water in the nearby wells. 9.4 Have cumulative effects due to proximity to other existing or planned projects with similar effects cumulative impacts are envisaged.

R.GOPI, (Under the Guidelines of Ministry of Environment and Forest in terms of the provisions of EIA notification 2006 and specifically in circular J /41/2006-IA.II (I) dated 20 th December, 2020) 1.1 Executive Summary of the project The total extent of the Area is Ha, Patta land in Varagur village of Thandrampattu Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District. The category of project is B2. It is a new quarry in Varagur village. The area applied for quarry lease is exhibits almost plain topography. The quarry operation is proposed to carry out with open cast semi mechanized mining with 5.0m vertical bench width of the bench is not less than bench height. Quarrying operation is carried out Splitting of rock mass of considerable volume from the parent rock mass by jackhammer drilling and blasting, hydraulic excavators are used for loading the Rough Stone from pithead to the needy crushers. Occasionally hydraulic excavators are attached with rock breakers for fragmentation to avoid secondary blasting. The quarry operation is proposed up to depth for 11m below ground level. Geological Resources is estimated at 1,71,170m 3 of Rough stone and 17,117m 3 of gravel formation. Mineable Reserves is estimated at 61,815m 3 of Rough Stone and 6,347m 3 of gravel formation after leaving necessary safety distance from the lease boundary as indicated in the precise area letter and relevant mining laws in force. Production Schedule is proposed an average production of 45,190m 3 of Rough Stone and 6,347m 3 of gravel formation for the period of five years. Mining license applied for period of five years only. Life of the quarry is five years. Other existing pit situated within the radius of 500mts. 0.3KLD of water for labor drinking and domestic purpose will be available from nearby village through package drinking water vendors. 0.3KLD and 0.4KLD for dust suppression in haul roads and Green belt during the course of quarrying will be taken from the existing Borehole on near the quarry. The excavated rough stone and Gravel will be directly loaded into tipper to the Customer / other buyers for road project and construction works for filling and leveling of low lying areas. Other infrastructure projects like building, Bridges are also under progress hence there is a huge demand of Rough Stone and Gravel for public sector companies and local private sector projects also. The earning source in the targeted area is limited, most of the people in and around the area depend upon the seasonal agriculture and much of the people migrate to nearby towns where good industries and factories are growing up. Through this project will give employment opportunities to 12 employees directly and 9 employees indirectly. Mineral Industries of the state of Tamil Nadu provides employment opportunities for the people of the state as well as in the specific project area. The Quarrying is one among the major core sector for industries, which plays a vital process of country s economic development. (iv) Demand and supply gap There is a huge demand of Rough Stone and Gravel in Tiruvannamalai District as many National Road projects is under massive development for its widening and strengtiruvannamalaing operation apart from this many bridges and fly over s are also being under construction. There is a huge demand of Rough Stone and Gravel for infrastructure development of the state; hence the project is significant to the state. The Railway line is also under progress where huge Demand of Rough Stone and Gravel is required as Ballast. Other internal panchayat Roads, State Highway roads and Major District Roads are also under progress, besides all these public works projects the Rough Stone and Gravel is widely used for domestic construction project like Hospital, School, Government Building and Housing, Construction. It is worth mentioning that the Rough Stone and Gravel of Tiruvannamalai District. (v) Imports vs indigenous production There is no import of Rough Stone and Gravel at present in India. 4

(vii) Domestic/Export Markets After obtaining the lease the applicant will fetch a domestic market as mentioned earlier. It is propose to the excavated rough stone will be directly loaded into tipper to the needy crushers and Gravel to needy customers for road project and construction works for filling and leveling of low lying areas. (viii) Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the project It is proposed to deploy about 12 directly and 9 persons will be indirectly benefited. The tentative man power required for the proposed Rough Stone and Gravel quarry shall be as follows. a. Skilled labors Operator : 4 Mechanic : 1 Mines Manager/mate : 1 b. Semi-skilled Driver : 2 c. Unskilled- helper Musdoor/Labours : 4 Total : 12 The above man power is adequate to meet out the production schedule and the machinery strength envisaged in the mining plan and also to comply with the stationary provisions of quarry safety regulation. It is been ensured that the labours will not be deployed less than 18 years, Child labours will engaged or entertained for any kind of quarrying operations. All the labours engaged for quarrying operations will be insured till the end of life of quarry. 3.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION (i) Type of project including interlinked and interdependent projects, if any There is no interlinked & interdependent project. Hence, there is no waste in this quarrying operation. There is no toxic effluent expected to generate in the form of solid or liquid and gases and the no requirement of treatment of waste. The Nearest Railway line is Tiruvannamalai to Tirukkovilur line which is about 11Km on rtheastern side of the area. The National Highway (NH-66) Tiruvannamalai- Krishnagiri is about 8km on rthern side of the area. The State Highway (SH-6) Tiruvannamalai Kallakurichi is about 450m on Eastern side of the area. (ii) Land Form, Land use and Land ownership The entire project area is about Ha, which is n irrigated and devoid of Vegetation and Habitations. 9
