1 Taking small steps together, always ahead, towards a better world Removal of trace air constitents in process applications

2 Removal of trace air constitents in process applications APPLICATIONS Clean Air Power Generation Clean Room Indstrial Key Facts Standard air flow 2500 m³/h Sitable for even the most demanding of applications Low pressre drop Redces energy consmption and lowers operating costs Optimised flow design For low, stable pressre drop and homogenos air flow Composite media No particle generation Lightweight For simple filter change Spherical cation exchange resin Designed specifically for process air applications Large filter srface 10 m² For high efficiency and long service life Both incinerable or non-flammable frame systems available For simple disposal and demanding applications Fits standard air handling nits For simple, low cost installation and switchover adsorption filters are applied where even small concentrations of gases in the air have an impact on the qality of prodcts. These processes can be in the electronic indstry, sch as micro-electronics and semi-condctor prodction, as well as in the manfactre of optics, MEMS (micro-electrical-mechanical systems) or high-precision mechanical devices. Moreover, filters are to protect precios objects and artefacts in msems and libraries from the deteriorating effects of trace gases in the air. filters are made p of a composite filter material containing fine spheres of cation exchange resin. By the acid grops of the resin strctre, alkaline sbstances, sch as ammonia, are efficiently tied p in the material by chemisorption.

3 Design AFP filters are designed as rigid celllar 4-V filters with mini-pleated media in a header frame, to flfil the demands of indstrial applications. De to the rigid celllar design the AFP filter series can be applied in any orientation withot effects on the technical characteristics, sch as pressre drop or adsorption performance. Using a mini-pleated composite media, there is no risk of settlement of sorbent material and leakage as in systems sing sorbents in blk form. The design of the composite filter material, the prodction parameters and the optimised flow design of the rigid cell, provide the best possible conditions for low and stable pressre drop in operation, as well as homogeneos filter flow. The design of the composite material is comparable to a fixed bed of microgranlar sorbent particles. Fixation of the granles by a threedimensional connecting PU-fibre network prevents movement and settlement of sorbent in the air stream. Hence the dense packing garantees of high filtration efficiencies for trace gas components and ideal pleat shape. No particles or dst are generated by AFP filter material as can be proven by particle measrements downstream of the filter dring operation. Areas of Application filters are particlarly effective in the removal of: Ammonia NH 3 in trace concentrations from air streams in recirclated air or fresh air for prodction processes nder clean room conditions Amines and frther nitrogen-containing bases from air streams in prodction processes Odoros componds from foling processes Occrrence of the target componds to be removed and applications for filters: Micro-electronic indstry and display manfactring Optical indstry and laser application Imaging and photography processes Msems and archives Waste-water treatment installations prodct detail

4 Installation AFP Process filters can be easily installed in standard fine dst filter frames. F-frames can be combined with filter barriers and installed into dcts, air conditioning nits and wall openings. Disposal AFP Process filters sed nder standard operation conditions to remove trace contaminations from process air environments can be disposed in the same way as normal indstrial waste (e.g. incineration, landfill). Filters soiled by toxic and/or radioactive constitents mst be disposed as hazardos waste in accordance with local reglations.
