Annexure 6: Manufacturing Processes 1) Turquoise Blue Process Description: The Chlorosulphonic acid is charged into Sulphonation vessel and CPC is slowly charged at 50OC. The reaction mass is sulphonated at 120C, whereas the HCl generated is scrubbed. The reaction mass is maintained for 3 hrs. Thereafter the sulphonated mass is drowned under ice, the mass is filtered and the filtrate is collected separately and taken into treatment. The filtered cake is charged with Vinyl Sulphone, Pyridine is added, and the mass is condensed. The condensed mass is then checked for the required quality and salt is added as per the required strength. The condensed slurry is then spray dried. The final product is blended and packed. Flow Diagram: 2) Vinyl Sulphone Process Description: (1) SULPHONATION Take Chlorosulphonic Acid and Thionyl Chloride into the sulphonation vessel and charge the Acetanilide flakes, with regular stirring of sulphomass for 4 hrs, maintain temperature between C, where in by addition of water to sulphomass, the HCl gas is scrubbed to recover Hydrochloric Acid. (2) DUMPING & FILTERATION The sulphomass is then dumped into ice to maintain temperature between C for 3 hrs, whereby ASC gets crystalized out. Crystalized ASC is then filtered through vacuumneutch. The filtrate obtained is mainly Sulphuric Acid and Sulfanilic Acid. Sulfanilic Acid is separated from Sulphuric Acid by cooling the filtrate for 24 hrs. (3) REDUCTION ASC is then charged into reduction vessel with Sodium Bisulphite and Caustic Soda lye at temperature between C, maintaining ph between for 4 hrs. After 4 hrs, temperature is increased to 55 to 60 C and transferred to ethoxilation vessel. KADAM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS JULY

(4) ETHOXILATION Once the temperature of reduction mass is maintained between 55 to 60 C, mass is transferred for ethoxylation where Ethyle Oxide IS charged with Sulphuric Acid, maintaining ph between for 14 hrs with regular stirring. (5) NEUTCH FILTERATION The condensed mass is then filtered through vacuumneutch with 2 water washes. The filtered cake is then centrifuged and dried by flash dryer. (6) ESTERIFICATION The dried condense obtained is then esterified in esterification vessel with addition of Sulphuric Acid, maintaining temperature at 150 C with regular stirring for 5 hrs. Wherein Acetic Acid is recovered Vinyl Sulphone is obtained is pulverized. (7) PULVERIZING & PACKING The pulverized Vinyl Sulphone powder is filled and packed in the HDPE bags. The pulverized Vinyl Sulphone powder is filled and packed in the HDPE bags. Flow Diagram: KADAM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS JULY

3) Acetanilide Process Description: Process for Acetanilide Flakes Aniline oil and Acetic Acid are charged into reaction vessel and temperature is maintained to 119 C, where acetic acid is recovered and collected. Temperature then raised to 140 C and acetic anhydride is charged into vessel with regular stirring for 2 hrs., temperature is then again raised to 190 C and mass is then flakered and Acetanilide flakes obtained and packed. 22 RECOVERY (ACETIC ACID) 4) Synthetic Organic Dyes 4.1 Reactive Dyes Process Discription: 1) Vinyl Sulphone base Reactive Dyes Manufacturing Process Vinyl sulphone ester of aniline (amine) charged into water and 30% hydrochloric acid added. Mass is stirred for 4 hours and then cooled by ice to 0-5 degree C. Sodium nitrite solution added to this amine below 5 degree C and completely diazotised. Mass stirred SI positive for 1 hour and then made SI negative with sulphamic acid solution. To this diazo H Acid powder ( coupler ) added below 5 degree C and stirred for 4 hours without temperature control. When acidic coupling completed ph adjusted to 4.5 by sodium carbonate and further maintained for 2 hours. Dyes produced transferred to holding reactor for shade and strength adjustment and transferred to spray dryer for drying and directly packed. Flow Diagram: KADAM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS JULY

(2) Cold Brand Reactive Dyes Manufacturing Process K Acid ( amine ) charged into water and 30% hydrochloric acid added to it. Mass stirred for 2 hours and then cooled by ice to 5 Degree C. To this sodium nitrite solution added slowly and diazo prepared. Diazo stirred for 2 hours and then made SI negative by Sulphamic acid solution. To this diazo added meta uredo aniline ( coupler ) powder and simultaneously ph adjusted to 6.5 by sodium bi carbonate. When coupling completed again it is cooled to 0 degree C by Ice and charged cyanuric chloride and stirred. When reaction completed ph adjusted to 6.5 If required dye is isolated by adding salt and filtered in filter press and mother liquor goes to ETP. Press cake thus obtained charged into cold water, slurry transferred to spray dryer for shade, strength adjustment and Spray powder directly packed. 24 (3) Hot Brand Reactive Dyes Manufacturing Process 6 CAPSA ( amine) charged into water and 30% hydrochloric acid added to it. Mass is colled to 0 degree C by ice and then sodium nitrite solution added to it. When diazotisation completed, made SI negative with sulphamic acid solution and H Acid (coupler) clear solution added for coupling. Ph adjusted to 6.5 by soda ash and when coupling complted charged copper sulphate solution for metallization. When reaction completed again cooled to 0 degree C by ice and cyanuric chloride powder charged. Ph adjusted to 6.5 by soda solution. After reaction completion added Metanilic acid powder for condensation and ph adjusted to 6.5. Dye produced transferred to spray dryer for drying and packing. Flow Diagram: KADAM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS JULY

(4) Bifunctional Reactive Dyes Manufacturing Process Vinyl sulphone ester of aniline is charged into water and ph adjusted to 4.5 by soda bi carbonate. This is cooled to 0 degree C and cyanuric chloride powder added. Mass is stirred for 6 hours and when reaction completed charged H Acid powder and ph adjusted to 5.5 by soda bi carb. Mass is stirred till reaction completed and then coled by ice. Seperately Sulpho Tobias acid diazo prepared by charging Sulpho tobias acid in water, adding hydrochloric acid and at 5 degree C sodium nitrite solution added. When diazo ready made SI negtive and transferred to condensed mass prepared in 1st step and ph adjusted to 6.5. Dye solution transferred to spray dryer and powder directly packed. 41 Annexure 9: Details of Effluent Treatment Plant In the Unit effluent generated from various areas such as: Washing water Domestic Wastewater Utility Blow-Down The total wastewater generation from the plant is 518 KLD including Domestic Sewage. The industrial effluent is treated in ETP of capacity 250 KLD & treated water is going to CETP for further treatment. For Domestic sewage Soak-pit is provided. ETP Description The unit is provided common ETP to treat effluent from M/s Jay Chemical Industries Ltd (Unit-3/1) and Jay Chemical Industries Ltd (Unit-3/2). The unit is segregating the concentrated stream as per CCA and concentrated stream sending to spray dryer for Glauber Salt Recovery to CETP. The diluted stream is first collected into Neutralization Tank, where Hydrated Lime is added and making neutral ph. Then the effluent is pumped into the Filter Press. From the Filter Press, the filtrate flows to Primary Clarifier then it goes to Biological treatment. The sludge from filter press is disposed to TSDF site through manifest system. Over flow from Aeration tank is going into Secondary clarifier. The settled sludge from Secondary clarifier collected into the Neutralization tank along with primary sludge. Then treated effluent send to CETP, Vatva through overhead tank for further treatment. Sludge from filter press packed and stored on impervious layer with leachate collection system under roof and send to TSDF site. Leachate generated from the Sludge storage area is taken back to Collection tank of ETP for further treatment and disposal. Design Inlet & Outlet characteristics of ETP ETP is designed for 250 KLD Capacity. The design base inlet and outlet characteristics of Existing ETP is presented in below table.
