GALVESTON COUNTY WCID NO BOND PROGRAM $4,050,000 Bond Election

2013 BOND ELECTION PROJECT SUMMARY New Kipp Lift Station (Design Completed) Sanitary Sewer Rehab (Design Completed) Water/Sanitary Master Plan Studies 12 Inch Water Line Loop Odor Control Program Odor Control System Sanitary Sewer Rehab Lazy Bend Water Line Upgrades S.H Lift Station Rehab

New Kipp Lift Station Construction of a new lift station and abandonment of the old lift station. The existing lift station has been repaired and patched multiple times that it shows many signs of serious wear. Hatches are falling apart, the wet well is deteriorating, the hangers for the pumps are bad, and the electrical boxes and wiring is old and needs updating to work efficiently. Probable Construction Cost: $621,000

Sanitary Sewer Rehab (Design Completed) Rehab of existing Sanitary Sewer Lines and Manholes. The Sanitary lines south of the Kemah Boardwalk are old and in need of repair. Rehab of the sanitary sewer system will reduce inflow and infiltration and increase the capacity of the system. Probable Construction Cost: $395,500

Water/Sanitary Master Plan Studies Prepare study for the District s Water and Sanitary Sewer System s. No studies exist for the District s Water and Sanitary Sewer Systems. Master plans will be created for the potable water system and the sanitary sewer system. These master plans will be used for guidance on the location and sizes of lines required for the future growth of the District, and determination of areas that may require upgrades to the current system. Study Cost: $84,300

12 Inch Water Line Construction of a new 12 inch Water Line loop. This project will replace an existing 6 inch line with a 12 inch line and connect two dead end water lines with a 12 inch line. These new 12 inch lines will help provide uniform pressure and improve circulation along the FM 518 corridor. Probable Construction Cost: $500,300

Odor Control Program The Odor Control Program will include the monitoring of the collection system to determine the origin of excessive BOD and hydrogen sulfide. Lift Stations, Manholes, and the Waste Water Plant will be monitored and then data and corrective action will be presented in an engineering report.

Odor Control System From the Engineering Report, implement the corrective action as recommended. The actions taken in this step will be determined based wholly upon what is found out during the Odor Control Program. Corrective action is going to take place to mitigate the amount of odor noticed in areas of concern and problem spots among the system.

Sanitary Sewer Rehab Rehab of existing Sanitary Sewer Lines and Manholes. The Sanitary lines south of the Kemah Boardwalk are old and in need of repair. Rehab of the sanitary sewer system will reduce inflow and infiltration and increase the capacity of the system. Probable Construction Cost: $291,100

Lazy Bend Water Line Upgrades Replacement of the existing 6 inch line with 8 inch Water Line. The lines and service leads are old, deteriorating, and undersized. Construction of an 8 inch line will increase flow and provide better circulation for Lazy Bend. Probable Construction Cost: $557,800

S.H Lift Station Rehab Installation of a fixed natural gas generator for emergency power. Currently the existing lift station does not have backup power. Installation of the backup generator will ensure continuous operation of the lift station and uninterrupted sewage treatment during power outages. Probable Construction Cost: $163,300
