16 AquaSel Pilt Prgress Update Nvember 30, First day f peratins prcessing RO cncentrate. December 3, Inlet pressure t EDR system increased frm 27 t 44 psi due t cllidal silica fuling. December 16, Tests were perfrmed n RO brine t find a pre-treatment r peratinal methd t limit silica scale. February 3, Pilt unit was placed back in peratin with additin f ferric chlride, multimedia, and cartridge filter. Operating with RO cncentrate recvery f 93 percent achieved - verall desalter recvery f 98 percent 16

19 Summary and Cnclusins (cnt d) Summary f Brine Minimizatin and Recvery Pilt GE Aquasel Success achieving RO cncentrate recvery f 93 percent. Initial fuling f EDR caused by high silica levels. Silica issue was successfully mitigated using multi-media, cartridge filter, and Ferric Chlride (FeCl 3 ). Over 100 hurs f pilt peratin and data cllectin. Next Steps: Increase run times and cntinue t mnitr system perfrmance (remval efficiency, cleaning cycles, etc.). USBR peer review and ther technical analysis f the data. Validate perating cst data (electrical, chemical, etc.) 19
