2 GEF SGP Moldova The programme is finnanced by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), delivered by UNOPS In Moldova SGP has started its activity in 2012, while financing in 2013 So far,19 projects funded (6 of which using EU co-funds)

3 Co financing of SGP projects SGP is expecting projects which offer 1:1 co-financing at least 25% of the project value should be in cash, and 25% in kind Sources of monetary co-financing: own funds, project partners, contributions of project beneficiaries Co-financing can be from other donors, international and national ones, e.g.: National Ecological Fund; Energy Efficiency Fund; National Fund for Regional Development, etc.

4 Other requirements SGP encourages development of NGO capacities and partnerships between NGOs with the private sector, government bodies and local public authorities SGP fosters partnerships and collaboration between NGOs. Those registered in Chisinau will be required to submit a project proposal in partnership with a local NGO The priority is given to projects implemented in a strategic field, including active involving of population and vulnerable groups of population

6 Community landscape conservation indicators At least 1 draft legal act or draft public policy, where the stipulations regarding biodiversity conservations are integrated, or at least 1 water basin management plan developed; At least 20 ha of shelterbelts newly created; At least 10 ha of shelterbelts rehabilitated;

7 Climate smart innovative agro ecology indicators At least 2 practices that provide measures to reduce CO2 emissions; At least 2 farmers who practice permaculture; Good agricultural practices adapted to climate change implemented on 5 ha or at least 5 ha with sustainable agriculture At least 2 guides developed and published; At least 1 continuous training programme developed; At least 60 households informed about good agricultural practices adapted to climate change;

8 Low carbon energy access co benefits indicators At least 2 innovative solutions of locally adopted solutions, demonstrated and documented; At least 20 households with access to electricity or heat generated from renewable sources; At least 10 ha of viable energetic plantations created.

9 Local to global chemicals management coalitions indicators At least 60 households trained on proper management of chemicals; At least 60 households trained in integrated pests management; At least 60 households collect separately non-toxic domestic e-wastes; Waste management systems in upgraded with collection of non-toxic domestic e-waste for a population of at least 2000 inhabitants; At least 1 strengthened nationwide network in safe use of chemicals.
