New: AQY 1 A low cost micro air quality monitor that produces scientifically credible data, yet is simple to set up and easy to use. The Aeroqual AQY multi-sensor units performed very well compared to more expensive FEM/FRM instruments and overall showed excellent correlation for ozone, and very good correlation and high accuracy for NO2 and PM AQ-SPEC: Air Quality Sensor Performance Evaluation Center 7

AQY roadmap 2015 Developed under a multi-year R&D project funded by NZ government Field tested in NZ, US and China Designed to give indicative measurement of key pollutants at an affordable price point Available for pilot scale evaluation. 100 node network in Los Angeles. Commercial release of full production version 1 June

AQY applications Smart city grid networks Roadside traffic emissions Emergency response / event monitoring Community groups / citizen science Schools and childcare health and safety Community exposure studies Mapping smog formation and distribution Validation of air quality models 9

AQY 1 specifications Parameters Power Dimensions Calibration On-board PC Comm s Software O 3, NO 2, PM 2.5, Temp, RH, dew point 12V DC plug pack, 24W 215H x 170W x 125D mm Factory calibration, remote calibration optional 1.2GHz quad-core, 1GB SDRAM, 16GB SDHC Storage, Linux OS WIFI, cellular Aeroqual Connect / Cloud, API For complete specifications please use the following link. 10

AQY API Access the API on our cloud servers (AWS) Rest API - use any programming language that supports HTTP requests/replies with cookies Supports up to one API call per second per username Through the API you can: Get a list of devices, Get data for each of those devices Get and set settings for those devices Full details on the API available HERE. 11

Aeroqual Care Aeroqual s support plan two years included with purchase of the device Aeroqual Connect and Cloud software licenses Secure data storage and backup to third party servers Remote technical support Free upgrades to the latest sensor algorithms Discounts on replacement sensors and spare parts Get sent automatic alerts on device diagnostics 12

Maintenance & Servicing AQY intended to be no touch for 12 months+ Sensor life is key determinant of unscheduled maintenance; it varies by level of PM pollution* When sensor fails, an alert is sent, and standard operating procedure is to: Return whole device to base Replace failed sensors (simple mechanical process) Return device to field. Annual maintenance ~10% of purchase cost typical. 13 *sensor life ~12months based on 0-50 μg/m3 annual average PM10

Independent test AQ-SPEC was set up by South Coast AQMD in Los Angeles to provide independent testing of low cost air quality sensing devices. All manufacturers are invited to send devices for testing. Results are made publically available on the AQ-SPEC website. AQ-SPEC s summary report on the AQY: Minimal down-time: data recovery from each unit was higher than 90% Low intra-model variability for all measured pollutants Ozone sensors showed excellent correlation with a more expensive FEM instrument (R 2 > 0.95) NO2 V2 sensors showed very good correlation with a more expensive FRM instrument (R 2 > 0.74) and high accuracy PM2.5 sensors showed very good correlation with more expensive FEM instruments (GRIMM: R 2 > 0.84 and BAM: R 2 > 0.83) and high accuracy Temperature and relative humidity sensors showed excellent correlation with the SCAQMD Met Station sensors (T: R 2 > 0.91 and RH: R 2 > 0.94) 14 Full report available here.

AQY unique technology O 3 sensor uses Aeroqual s patented gas sensitive semiconductor (GSS) for unrivalled sensitivity, stability and selectivity NO 2 sensor combines patented algorithms with our O 3 sensor to eliminate cross interferences common to other NO 2 sensors Automatic baseline correction (ABC) modulates between sample and zero flow conditions to remove diurnal and seasonal temperature and humidity effects Light-scattering optical particle sensor has algorithms for humidity and temperature compensation, and an anti-static inlet 1 part-per-billion (ppb) detection of O 3 and NO 2. 15

AQY vs other low cost monitors Advanced measurement techniques not off the shelf sensors All measurement is done on the device many other devices rely on data processing in the cloud before outputting a measurement More than 2 years data storage on the device, allowing for failsafe back-up Aeroqual Cloud is used for data acquisition and display and remote diagnostics. Software is bundled with the instrument providing a complete product package, Product is backed by a decade of field experience deploying and supporting sensor-based instruments in a wide range of outdoor ambient applications. 16

Los Angeles AQY network 100 AQY devices deployed across Los Angeles in partnership with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SC AQMD) and UCLA Funding provided through EPA Star Grant and NZ Government R&D funding First 25 units have been operational since Dec 2017, network complete by March 2018 SC AQMD is under pressure to show progress towards rule AB617 a state law that requires community-level air quality monitoring. 17

LA device locations Riverside Downtown - Port Imperial County 18

LA data flows SC AQMD has access to the data via API for their own analysis Citizens and schools are logging in via Aeroqual Cloud Aeroqual is applying third party software tools to analyse and visualise the data A richer picture is emerging of PM 2.5, O 3, and NO 2 patterns in the region. 19

Smart Cities Case Study Itron (ITRI: NASDAQ) is a leading provider of smart meters and networks for utilities and cities Aeroqual partnered with Silver Spring Networks, acquired by Itron early 2018 Aeroqual has integrated Silver Spring Network s mesh radio, enabling twoway communication over the network AQY units are installed on smart lights that operate on Itron s network Demonstration projects established in San Antonio, New Orleans, and Chicago 20
