Sudarshan has always been in the forefront for taking initiatives for sustainable future. The path for rapid growth has been chalked out supporting climate resilient development and facilitating innovative partnership with all stake holders. We have been working to spread awareness and push forward on programs that deliver economic development while also addressing climate mitigation and adaptation. EHS Environment, Health & Safety Green Energy Working for clean and green environment: Wind Mills We have commissioned 4.2 MW Wind mills at Anjanadi, Dist. Aurangabad (Maharashtra). Our Mahad site has been a driver for this. It has helped us in Reduction of Carbon emission: 5595 MT/per annum Equivalent Saving of fossil fuel: 3360 ton per annum Keeping in view our vision towards generating positive change we have strategized and executed some of the initiatives. Wind Mill Installed at Anjandi Aurangabad Solar Power Have firmed up plans to invest in 6.5 MW in Power park at our manufacturing sites Roha, Mahad, Global Head Office and R&D. Total carbon emission reduction will be: 6924 MT per annum Saving of fossil fuel: 3188 ton per annum Solar Panel Installed at Global Head Office Sudarshan EHS Magazine 3

Steam Condensate Recovery: Installed condensate & flash steam recovery system to recycle 225 m3 condensate per day and use in Cogen Boiler. In which Saving of fossil fuel: 2160 ton per annum Water conservation means using our limited water supply wisely and caring for it properly. Since each of us depends on water to sustain life, it is our responsibility to learn more about water conservation and how we can help keep our sources pure and safe for generations to come. Our usable water supply is finite (we do not have an endless supply) which means that water conservation is not a job that is reserved solely for technicians, soil scientists, hydrologists, foresters, wildlife managers, plant scientists, city planners, park managers, farmers, ranchers, or mine owners instead it is up to each and every one of us to save water. Water Saving Projects: Water saving through water conservation projects: of water saving through these steps. I) Optimization of water usage in Filter presses II) III) IV) Condensate recovery, Use of recycle water for gardening, Vacuum pump seal water recycling 3,32,500 m3/year V) Recycling & reuse of RO plant reject & Cogen cooling tower blow down water. Sudarshan has taken various innovative steps towards energy management and conservation. Sudarshan has Commissioned Cogen Power plant in Dec'2016 for captive use with these measures; the company could reduce energy consumption significantly over the last few years. It has also focused its attention towards this noble cause of energy conservation. Sudarshan has taken various innovative steps for energy management and conservation: a) Process optimization. b) Using innovative ideas c) Replacement of conventional motors with high efficient IE3 motors d) Replacement of CFL with LED lighting. e) Installation of VAM in place of Vapour compression chillers f) Energy monitoring and audits g) Condensate recycling h) Replacement of inefficient pumps with energy efficient pump i) Installation of Energy efficient fans in cooling towers j) Installation of VFD for equipment's with fluctuating loads k) Improvement in Insulation l) Regular monitoring & review of energy KPIs Sudarshan EHS Magazine 4

Help to save ENVIRONMENT Our R&D has been playing a very responsible role towards designing robust processes that reduce solvent ratio and reduction in environmental load R&D is supported by state of art analytical facility to analyze the samples at each developmental stage. There is separate application development lab which caters R&D to test their samples for end application. R&D has been successful to design processes which have produced yields of 99% plus on an average which increases the throughput of the plant / enhances the capacity and reduces the organic waste being taken for incineration also developed greener processes involve less usage of water reduced ETP hydraulic load Key Highlights: Set up of methanol distillation: l l l In-house methanol recovery has been carried out and recoverd methanol used in synthesis of HPP ( High Performance Pigments) which reduce COD (Chemiccal Oxygen Demand) load as well as solvent consumption. In PY 110 product reduction on solvent ratio by 50% which reduce solvent consumption, solvent related handing hazards and COD load to effluent treatment plant In the manufacturing of one of the intermediate excess ammonia is required for reaction. R&D has been designed process in such a way that it can be recycled & can be used for next reaction which reduce consumption of ammonia and exposure Sudarshan EHS Magazine 5

Safety Training Sudarshan Considering education and training are important tools for informing workers and managers about workplace hazards and controls so they can work more safely and be more productive with a greater understanding of the safety and health program itself, so that they can contribute to its development and implementation. Safety Training Man Hrs Sudarshan EHS Magazine 6

The way forward Sudarshan has taken initiative to eliminate major fire and explosion hazard from site by replacing LPG heating with electrical for calcination process of pigment and make safe work place. Existing LPG replaced and eliminated Major hazard from site now this bullet is used for storage of Liquor Ammonia (25%). Waste out of wealth During the year, the Company continued to focus on Environment management by further strengthening of our effluent treatment facility at Roha and Mahad. During ETP expansion we considered reduction in green house gases for that AHR (anaerobic hybrid reactor) installed, Sudarshan is moving towards waste from wealth for that new paddle dryer installed for both primary and secondary sludge, secondary sludge used in cogen as a fuel. Highly advance technology used in our Tertiary plant with auto disc filters & activated glass media filters installed because off this our outlet TSS values are less than 20ppm. 9 EVENT th The 47 National Safety Week/Day was celebrated on th 4 March-2018 at all sites Roha, Mahad and Sutarwadi respectively The week long campaign was inaugurated by Mr Vivek Garg (Associate Vice President Engineering) at Roha followed by hoisting the Safety flag. In his inaugural address he has given emphasis on reporting of near-miss and elimination of unsafe conditions from work place. Mr Ashish Vij (Director) has given message on this day to establish Sustainable Safe and Healthy working environment at shop floor. All employees rededicated themselves for the cause of Safety, Health and Environment by taking Safety Pledge. Various Safety programs & competitions were conducted during the Safety Week Celebration like Drama, On-line Safety quiz, Saftey Poem, Mock Drill, Drawing competitions for children's World Environment Day was Celebrated on 5th June -2018, on this occasion plastic cleaning drive and Tree Plantation was organised at nearest Mahadevwadi village.
