Site identified by SMEC 1978 as RoR of capacity MW NEA carried out prefeasibility study in different stages Feasibility, Detailed Design, Environmental and Social studies carried out by Tractebel Eng, France. Extensive Field Investigations, Laboratory studies, EIA surveys (996m of investigation tunnels, 1800m of core drilling, 115 km2 of LiDAR Topography, Hydraulic model testing, geological Surveys, Fauna Flora & Social Census surveys, Public Hearings Preparation of Final Reports etc.) Up to date progress 1. 20 Implementation Strategy Lot No. 1 (as per Quantities) -related to the construction of all Preparatory Works (including the access roads, one bridge on the Budhi Gandaki River and the camps for the Employer). Lot No. 2 (EPC Contract) Dam and Appurtenant Structures - Design and construction of the Main Dam, spillway, mid-level and low-level outlets, tailwater dam, powerhouse excavations down to el. 345masl, diversion works (cofferdam and diversion tunnels) + supply and erection of related hydromechanical equipment. Lot No. 3 (EPC Contract) Powerhouse and Waterways - Design and construction of power intakes, gate shafts, power tunnels, powerhouse exaction below el. 345masl, the powerhouse complex civil works and tailrace channel, supply, installation and commissioning of hydro turbines, hydro generators, main step-up transformers, auxiliary electrical and control equipment, balance of plant mechanical systems, related hydro-mechanical equipment, Transmission Lines.
