3 Environmental Policy We, Eizo Nanao Corporation, are aware that our products have a significant impact on the environment. In our product development work we therefore consider friendliness to the environment to be part and parcel of product quality. We endeavor to supply our customers worldwide with products developed to common specifications that meet or exceed the environmental requirements of individual countries as well as our own environmental standards. We are conscious of the importance of environmental preservation as a common issue for all humankind and pledge to do our utmost to protect the environment in all aspects of our corporate operations. 1. We endeavor to constantly remain up to date on and to strictly adhere to environmental laws and standards applicable to our corporate operations and products, as well as other environmental preservation requirements of society at large. We determine environmental objectives and targets based on a clear understanding of such requirements as well as the environmental impact of our corporate operations and products. These objectives and targets are reviewed on a regular basis to achieve ongoing improvement of our environmental management system and performance. 2. At the research and development stage, we pay careful attention to the design of our products to minimize the consumption of resources and energy, ensure ease of recycling, and reduce the volume of toxic substances. Our aim is a continuous raising of our environmental standards. 3. In our corporate operations we give due consideration to conserving energy and resources. We work to reduce the volume of waste products generated by our operations and to dispose properly of all waste generated. We are engaged in positive efforts to promote the collection and recycling of used products discarded by consumers. 4. We constantly monitor the latest information related to the environment through our information network, which includes our overseas facilities and affiliated companies. We endeavor to share information appropriately by disclosing and disseminating details of our own environmental initiatives, and we work with others in common efforts aimed at preserving the environment. 5. We educate all company members and strive to deepen their awareness of environmental matters, while creating members of a team that will be committed to the effective use of natural resources and energy, and to the protection of our global environment. 3/19

Introduction To promote the conservation of the global environment, Eizo Nanao Corporation strives to achieve environmentally-friendly manufacturing, with the goal of creating a more economically-minded society with a sound cycle of materials use. All of our activities comply with the Environmental Policy appended to this document. We intend to persevere in our efforts to promote environmental conservation while continuing to improve our practices, so that all of our activities will meet the environmental standards demanded by customers, society, and the global environment. To help fulfill our social responsibilities, we have created Green Procurement Standards that will guide our materials procurement. To achieve environmentally-friendly products that generate reduced environmental loads, the parts and materials that make up the products must themselves generate reduced loads. The procurement of such parts and materials is critical to realizing our goal. In addition to procurement criteria such as quality, price, delivery period, service, and technological capabilities, Eizo Nanao will also consider a company s efforts in reducing environmental loads and in pursuing environmental conservation. In procurement activities, we will assign a priority to companies whose activities indicate a forward-looking approach to environmental conservation. In addition to quality, functionality, and cost effectiveness, the environmental friendliness of products, parts, and materials (including packaging materials) will be serve as a critical component of our selection criteria. The understanding and cooperation of our suppliers represent a crucial part of our efforts to provide environmentally-friendly products. Eizo Nanao Corporation wants to make this endeavor a joint effort. To ensure the success of our efforts, we ask for your understanding with regard to our stated goals and our social responsibilities, and ask for your cooperation in promoting activities that reduce environmental burdens. We also ask for your continuing efforts to achieve sustained improvements in these areas. 2. Our Goal By granting preferential status to suppliers actively engaged in environmental conservation activities, and by selectively procurement and using products, parts, and materials that generate low environmental loads, Eizo Nanao hopes to reduce the impact of our business activities on the environment and to help expand the market for environmentally-friendly products. 3. Scope of Applicability to Products The present standards apply to electrical parts, mechanical parts and materials used in the following products: Products designed and manufactured by Eizo Nanao Corporation. Products marketed by Eizo Nanao Corporation but contracted to third parties for design and manufacturing. Products marketed by Eizo Nanao Corporation purchased as finished products. Examples of such products are given below. Semi-manufactured products (functional units, modules, assembly parts for substrate Assys) Parts (electrical parts, mechanical parts, semiconductor devices, printed wiring boards, storage media, packaging materials, packaging parts, etc.) Screws Components of supplementary materials used in products (tapes, solder materials, adhesives, coating materials) 4/19

Requirements of Eizo Nanao Green Procurement Standards Requirements of Eizo Nanao Green Procurement Standards are to have suppliers report their business systems for environmental conservation efforts, assessment results of the compliance with environmental standards and information on chemical sub-stances of the products (parts, materials). We ask suppliers to complete and submit the following three special Formats in accordance with the presence standards. 1) Survey on Environment Conservation Practices (Format No. RDG-44006E) 2) Survey on Environmental Information : Eizo Nanao MIS File Ver.1.0 3) Chemical Substances Survey : JAMP(*) AIS File Ver.3.1 *JAMP: Joint Article Management Promotion-consortium) We will ask suppliers to submit a Survey on Environmental Practices (Format No. RDG-44006) to report their business systems for environmental conservation efforts. Please refer to the Section 5 for more details on the requirements and instructions on completing the format. For each products (including subassemble parts), materials, and parts purchased as finished products, we will ask suppliers to submit the MIS File and AIS File. Please refer to Section 6, for more details on the requirements and instructions on completing the files. The contents of the submitted report and information contained in other reference materials may be made public to broaden recognition of our environmental efforts. However, the publication of such information will be restricted to cases in which the information is required for the aforementioned purpose, and will be edited so that the supplier s name cannot be deduced. 5. Survey on Environmental Conservation Practices for each supplier 5-1. Survey on Environmental Conservation Practices We will ask suppliers to submit Survey on Environmental Conservation Practices (Format No. RDG-44006) to report their business systems for environmental conservation efforts when starting a transaction with us. We will ask both manufacturers and merchandising companies to submit this format when manufacturers purchase the products (parts or products) through merchandising companies. All products from our suppliers are premised to be compliance with all survey items in the present standards. In case that a checkmark placed in Not compliant for any item indicates a request to the supplier from Eizo Nanao to work toward future improvements immediately Requested Items 1. Environment management system Please report if ISO14001 or equivalent third-party certification has been acquired. 2. Legal compliance management for chemicals Please report none of 36 legally- prohibited chemical substances from statutes in the table 1 below are used and/or contained. 3. Information disclosure of the use of chemical substances contained in products. Please indicate if Eizo Nanao MIS File and JAMP AIS File can be submitted or not. 5/19

Product and parts design for resource saving, energy saving, and recycle recycling Please indicate the activities that consideration is given for the design of the products and the parts to minimize the consumption of resources and energy and facilitate recycling Instructions on Completing the Formats Provide the name of the supplier/business establishment, the date, the name and division of the person filling in the formats, and contact information such as telephone number. Please check the items for Categories 1 to Caution We will ask suppliers to submit this format (Format: No.RDG-44006) when starting a transaction with us and resurveying approximately every two years afterward. Since the standards are subject to change without prior notice due to change in social conditions, environmental regulation changes, and trends in regulation changes, we may ask suppliers to resubmit when necessary. We may also ask to submit additional resource materials and information. The example of the exempted items that would be relevant to our products is shown in the table below. Control of Chemical Substances and Providing Information on Individual Products and Components Supplied We ask our suppliers to submit delivery specifications when supplying components or materials to Eizo Nanao for the first time. We ask that suppliers to complete the forms entitled "Nanao MIS File" and "JAMP AIS File" in Appendix 2, providing detailed information on efforts to comply with environmental regulations and chemical substance information on individual components (including subassemblies), materials, and purchased components. Suppliers must submit these files electronically before submitting the delivery specifications. Please review Tables 1 and 2 in Section 5 above before submitting specific information. Please note that any material to be supplied to Eizo Nanao that contains substances prohibited by regulations in Japan or overseas will be rejected Eizo Nanao MIS File Please review the information in Table 3 below for each Eizo Nanao item number when components or materials are to be adopted by Eizo Nanao. Include the results of this review in the Eizo Nanao MIS File and submit it electronically. Note that up to 100 items may be submitted as a single data file when multiple components are covered by a single Eizo Nanao delivery specification for example, in the case of series components Survey Items Please refer to Table 3 for detailed information on Eizo Nanao MIS File survey items. All components supplied to Eizo Nanao must comply with the Eizo Nanao Environmental Requirements. Please refer to Table 5-1 to 5-7 below before indicating compliance in Section 5 of the MIS File. [Table 5-1] Eizo Nanao Environmental Requirements: LCD Module No. Requirements Plastic parts weighing 25 g or more shall not contain halogenated polymers or halogenated organic 1 compounds. However, 0.5% or less of fluoride additive for a characteristic improvement is excluded. Substances listed in the risk phrases R40, R45, R46, R48, R50, R51, R53, R60, R61 shall not be used in 2 plastic parts weighing 25 g or more. Plastic parts shall not be metallized or contain molded-in or glued metal parts, except for metal inserts that is 3 separable by cutting, pulverizing or otherwise breaking down the part with common tools. Plastic parts exceeding 100 g shall be made from the same type of plastic material. However, light guides are 4 exempt from this restriction. Plastic parts weighing 25 g or more shall be labeled according to ISO 11469, ISO , -2, -3, and Optical components etc, having difficulties to label are excluded. For the light guide, the coding shall be labeled outside the module unit. Backlight lamps shall be easily removable without damage to lamp. Gluing and welding may not be used, since 6 these processes complicate the removal of lamps. Instructions for lamp removal shall be submitted.(as figures and text in English) Substances in Annexes A, B, C and E of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the 7 Ozone Layer may not be used during manufacturing processes. 12 [Table 5-2] Eizo Nanao Environmental Requirements: Plastic Parts weighing 25 g or more No. Requirements 1 The product shall be composed of recyclable materials. Plastic parts shall be labeled according to ISO 11469, ISO , -2, -3, and -4, with the exception of cases 2 involving small parts in which labeling is technically difficult due to space limitations. Plastic parts shall not contain halogenated polymers or halogenated organic compounds. 3 However, 0.5% or less of fluoride additive for a characteristic improvement is excluded. 4 Substances listed in the risk phrases R40, R45, R46, R48, R50, R51, R53, R60, R61 shall not be used. 5 Substances listed in IARC Levels 1, 2A, and 2B shall not be used. The names and CAS numbers of flame retardants for materials of plastic parts shall be reported by submitting 6 an MSDS. Substances in Annexes A, B, C and E of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer 7 shall not be used during the manufacturing process. However, HCFCs may be used if use is not accompanied by release into the atmosphere.
