Air Quality Issues -- the Challenges Masters Leadership Program Mission To provide proven leaders with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the issues and needs in Bexar County, while encouraging the use of their skills for the betterment of the community. Thank you! Peter Bella Alamo Area Council of Governments Masters Leadership Program 2013 Environmental Day March 6, 2013

The Alamo Area Council of Governments AACOG provides direct services & planning supporting communities and local governments in a 12 county area of south central Texas Contains the 8 county San Antonio New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA): Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina, and Wilson Counties

What is ozone? Ozone is an odorless, colorless gas. Ground-level ozone can cause: shortness of breath coughing or wheezing headaches nausea throat and lung irritation Ground-level ozone s effects are most profound on children, the elderly, and those with reduced lung capacity. The Clean Air Act: ozone regulation.

What Causes Ozone? Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) & Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)

Projects in the Transportation Improvement Program and the Metropolitan Transportation Plan must not add net pollution.
