4 Science Room / Lab Faucets Science lab faucets are not required by the EPA rules or building codes to meet any lead free regulations. Birmingham Public Schools has installed one very different looking faucet, that meets all lead free qualifications, in each science classroom in the district. Students and staff have a clean, tested water source where they can freely and safely use the water for drinking in each of these areas. All of the other sinks in these areas have been clearly labeled with a durable sign reading Not Drinking Water.
