This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.10(B) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Datang Generation Co., Ltd. (the Company ) announces that, based on the Company s preliminary statistics, as of 31 December 2017, total of the Company and its subsidiaries (the Group ) amounted to approximately billion kwh, representing an increase of approximately 15.20% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Total on-grid of the Group amounted to approximately billion kwh, representing an increase of approximately 15.15% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. As affected by the increased utilization hours of thermal and year-on-year increases in the capacity of thermal generating units in the region where the Group is located, the Group recorded year-on-year increases of 14.64% and 14.53%, respectively, in the and the on-grid of thermal generating units. The Group recorded year-on-year increases in the and on-grid of hydro generating units of 17.49% and 17.53%, respectively, as a result of the year-on-year increases in the capacity of hydro generating units of the Group and other relevant factors. The Group 1

2 recorded year-on-year increases in the and on-grid of wind generating units of 22.70% and 22.83%, respectively, due to the year-on-year increase in the capacity of wind generating units of the Group and year-on-year increase in wind speed and other relevant factors. The Group recorded year-on-year increases in the and on-grid of photovoltaic generating units of 16.35% and 16.91%, respectively, due to the year-on-year increase in the capacity of photovoltaic generating units of the Group and other relevant factors. As at 31 December 2017, the average on-grid tariff of the Company was RMB per MWh. I. STATUS OF CAPACITY INCREASE FOR THE YEAR OF 2017 The capacity of the Company increased MW in total, of which thermal projects increased 684MW, hydro projects increased 2805MW, wind projects increased 126.5MW, photovoltaic projects increased 80MW. Details are as follows: Thermal projects: No.10 unit of Inner Mongolia Datang Tuoketuo No. 2 Generation (660MW), No. 1 and 2 units of Jiangsu Datang Rugao Thermal (2*12MW). Hydro projects: No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 units of Sichuan Datang Ganzi Hydro Changheba ( ) (4*650MW), No. 1, 2 and 3 units of Chongqing Yuhao Hydro Haokou ( ) (2*62.5MW + 1*10MW), No. 1 and 2 units of Guizhou Datang Daozhen Hydro Company Jiaomutang ( ) (2*35MW). Wind projects: Jiangxi Datang Renewable Company Shitoushan Wind Phase I (32.5 MW), Luanluozhang Wind Phase I (66 MW), Zhejiang Datang Pinghu Wind Company Pinghu Wind Phase I (28MW). STATUS OF THE POWER GENERATION PROJECTS APPROVED FOR THE YEAR OF 2017 For the year, the Company has obtained official approvals for projects with a total capacity of 1,102.0MW, including wind projects with a total capacity of 1,029.8MW and photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of 72.2MW. Details are as follows: Wind projects: Datang Jiangxi Wumeishan wind project (100MW), Datang Inner Mongolia Xianghuangqi wind project (150MW), Datang Inner Mongolia Sunitezuoqi wind project (150MW), Datang Guangning Zhaoqing Zhouzai wind project (99.8MW), Datang Qinghai Dulan wind project (50MW), Datang Qinghai Dachaidan wind project (50MW), Datang Guangdong Lechang Yunsha wind project (100MW), Datang Guangdong Shixing wind project (80MW), Datang Liaoning Wafangdian wind project (100MW), and Ningxia Datang Interational Xinzhuangjixiang wind project (150MW).
