4 Toxics Substance Reduction Plans Summary Keele Street, Vaughan, ON December 20, STATEMENT OF INTENT LT Custom Furnishings is committed to playing a leadership role in protecting the environment. The use of the speciated VOCs identified in Section 1.0 is an integral part of the products that we manufacture, and it is not technically or economically feasible to reduce. Therefore, we do not intend on reducing the use of the identified speciated VOCs, and will continue to use this substance in strict accordance with all applicable environmental regulations. 3.0 OBJECTIVES OF THE PLAN & ANY TARGETS LT Custom Furnishings prides itself on technological innovation in order to produce high quality products in an environmentally responsible manner. The objectives of this plan are to assess the technical and economic feasibility of options, if any options are identified and to determine which are viable for implementation. No options have been identified at this time; however, as part of the continuous improvement practices at the facility, technical advances will be monitored for new opportunities to reduce use of speciated VOCs at the facility. 4.0 DESCRIPTION OF WHY THE TOXIC SUBSTANCE IS USED OR CREATED LT Custom Furnishings manufactures shelving and display units for the retail sector. The speciated VOCs are contained in paints and stains applied to assembled units. In addition, the hydrotreated heavy naphtha substance is also contained in the glues used throughout the facility. The glues are used to assemble parts of the furniture products manufactured at the facility. 5.0 OPTIONS TO BE IMPLEMENTED (OR STATEMENT THAT NONE ARE TO BE IMPLEMENTED) At this time, no opportunities for reduction can be identified, and thus no available option will be implemented. LT Custom Furnishings is committed to manufacturing a high quality product in an environmentally responsible manner.
