However, the high degree of transparency can also lead to increases in heat and ultraviolet light transmission. Modern solar control glass such as SunGuard is able to reduce unwanted solar energy gain, while allowing maximum visible light transmission for virtually any application. SunGuard is manufactured by sputtering multiple layers on to a glass substrate, based on the patented Silacoat process.
