5 WORKING : A temperature sensor measure the incoming hot water temperature ( generally after the water heater ), another one measure the outgoing water temperature, the water meter measure the quantity of water, then the electronic system calculate the temperature difference given by the 2 temperature sensors and indicate the consumption in kwh. 8 INSTALLATION EXAMPLE : 1 : Installation in the non-continuous flow sector of the secondary circuit. Simple Installation 2 : Installation in the non-continuous flow sector of the primary circuit, a flow through the heat meter only takes place when hot flow water circulates via the three way valve from the primary to the secondary circuit. Installation in secondary circuit with continuous flow and primary circuit. Installation of 2 groups of meters with radiator and floor heating. Page 8 sur 14

14 INSTALLATION POSITIONS : Vertical position ( ascendant fluid ) Horizontal position INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS OF HEAT METER BEFORE INSTALLATION : Pipe-line must be cleaned and free from residual of weldings, rubbish, shaving and every kind of extraneous materials. Pipe-line must be perfectly aligned and their support properly dimensioned so that there s no external constraint. It s recommended to use a water meter stand. When installing water meter on pipe-line, use fittings with flat span. To tighten the ends, use the appropriate tool. Use the right bolt tightening so that the ends won t be damaged. We suggest to place straight pipes before and after the water meter. Straight pipe must be length 5 times water meter DN. It s recommended to install a strainer before the water meter if there are some solid particles in the water. Install ball vales before and after the water meter, so to facilitate the possible water meter removal. We suggest to install no-return check valve after the water meter also. TESTS : During the tests under pressure, water meter must be removed to avoid overpressure risks. INSTALLATION Please make the water flow slowly to avoid water hammer. The meter pit shall be protected from flooding, rainwater and frost Page 14 sur 14
