1 Pre-Feasibility Report M/s. Veer Poly Chem 0

2 1. Introduction M/s. Veer Polychem is an existing unit located at Plot 119 & 120, Ranpur road, GIDC Dhandhuka, Dist: Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Currently, unit is producing copper sulphate with capacity of 100 MT/month. Now the unit proposes to expand its production capacity by adding pesticide products, different types of dyes & resin. 2. Cost of Project Total Cost of project is 3.0 crore out of which 0.5 crore will be used for Environment Management System. 3. Production Capacity Production capacity is prescribe below: Name of Product List of Products Quantity (MTPM) Existing Proposed Total 1. Copper Sulphate Solvent Black 5 (Nigrosine Black SS) 3. Solvent Black 7 (Nigrosine Black Oil soluble) 4. Acid Black 2 (Nigrosine Black water soluble) Plaster of Paris Phenol Formaldehyde Resin PF Moulding Powder , 4-D Acid (Technical) ,4-D Ethyl Ester (Technical) List of Raw Materials List of raw material is given below: Total List of Raw Materials Name of Product Quantity (MT/month) Existing Proposed Total Solvent Black MT/month 1 Aniline oil NitroBenzene M/s. 5 8. Source of Pollution Details of Air Pollution Main source of air pollution will be from stack attached with Boiler & HAG. Coal/ Bio fuel (Briquette) will be used as fuel. Cyclone & bag filter will be installed as APCM. Process emission will be from stack attached to Reaction vessel of Acid black 2, where 2 stage water scrubbers will be installed as APCM. Proper stack height will be provided for proper atmospheric dispersion of pollutants. Details of stacks and APCM are given in below table. Existing Stack attached to 1. Hot Air Generator Stack Height in m Fuel Used Fuel consumption rate APC measure Pollutant 11 Wood 15 MT/month Cyclone SPM<150 mg/nm 3 SO 2 < 100 ppm NOx<50 ppm Proposed 1. Reaction vessel of Acid black 2 11 HSD 15 lit/hr stage water scrubber HCl < 20 mg/nm 3 Source and disposal of waste water Source of wastewater generation is mainly from process, washing & utility. Wastewater generated from dyes and resin process will be completely recycle in close loop and w/w from pesticide products will be sent to ETP along with w/w from washing & utility. After primary treatment, it will be evaporated and recovered condensate will be reuse/recycle. Domestic effluent is disposed off into soak pit through septic tank. M/s. Veer Poly Chem 4

6 Source and disposal of Hazardous wastes Summary of waste and ultimate disposal are summarized below: Name of Waste Category Quantity Disposal method 1. ETP sludge & Evaporation salt MT/month Collection, Storage, Transportation & Disposal at TSDF site 2. Used oil lit/annum Collection, Storage, Transportation and disposal by selling to authorized re-refiners 3. Discarded containers/ drums Liners nos./month 9. Funds for pollution control measures 0.1 T/month Collection, Storage, Transportation and disposal by selling to authorized recycler The management is quite conscious of its responsibility for maintaining clear environment adequate funds can be provided for the pollution control measures as financing part of overall expansion. Necessary provision for Environmental management system is in practice and will be part of practice in future expansion projects. 10. Monitoring facilities Air sampling will be done by outside agency and will be part of practice in future expansion projects. 11. Conclusion On the basis of information presented in the pre-feasibility report on pollution control measures and after its implementation, there will be no discharge of effluent and air emission from the plant beyond the norms specified by the Board as per the provisions of Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, M/s.
