4 OUR HISTORY Mannington is a fourth generation, family-owned company. We remain the only U.S. manufacturer to make both carpet and hard surface flooring for the contract market that is available through one sales force. Being privately held allows us to take the long view and never compromise on the design, production or quality of our broad portfolio of products even through natural disasters or economic downturns. Among other deep and broad initiatives, we: INCORPORATE WASTE STREAMS INTO NEW PRODUCTS We take a broad look at waste streams that are the largest contributors to landfills and work to incorporate them into our manufacturing. Every year, thousands of tons of post-consumer carpet and LVT are diverted from America s landfills and recycled into Mannington Products. DESIGN FOR FOREVER Our products are designed for durability to last longer, with less maintenance. And at the end of their useful lives, to become part of our closed-loop reclamation and recycling programs. ENERGY LEADERSHIP U.S. Secretary of the Department of Energy said that Mannington, is among the vanguard of forward thinking American companies as a leader in industry energy efficiency, naming us one of 50 Save Energy Now LEADERS when the program was founded in We have the largest solar array in the flooring industry, with its clean energy feeding directly into our manufacturing processes, and further reduce our energy usage through conservation, renewable generation and biofuels. CERTIFICATIONS Third party certifications help us all navigate the ever-shifting, and too-often opaque, work of environmental marketing claims. So we have invested in Environmentally Preferable Product certifications for products, and ISO certification for manufacturing processes. We are a long standing member of the US Green Building Council, and all of our products contribute to multiple LEED credits.
