2 Endesa nuclear power plants: Asco I-II, Vandellos II, Almaraz I-II, S.M. Garoña, Trillo Electricity Generation: New Generating Capacity: Nuclear Tarragona, Cáceres, Guadalajara, Burgos (SPAIN) The project involves the repowering of Endesa nuclear plants (Asco I-II, Vandellos II, Almaraz I-II, S.M. Garoña, Trillo), which contributes to increase electricity generation without increasing CO2 emissions. The projects started in 1991 and finished on 2009 but it still contributes to emissions saving. It is due to a better efficiency from the nuclear power achieved through several actions: the adaptation of the high preasure turbine and some electricity equipment modifications. All the actions undertaken have increase the capacity of 335,26 MW. Besós combined cycle power station 3 Sant Adrià de Besós (Barcelona, Spain) Besós combined cycle started its activity in August Its nominal generation capacity is 400 MW. The project achieves environmental benefits by reducing emissions of pollutants such as SO2, NOx and particulate matter, compared to a conventional coal power plant. Besós combined cycle power station 5 Sant Adrià de Besós (Barcelona, Spain) A new combined cycle power plant has been opened in Besós. One of the main features of Besòs 5 is that it has a combined cycle technology, so it has less environmental impact than plants that usefossil fuels. The new plant has a 2x1 configuration (two gas turbines and one steam) and consists of two gas turbines, two heat recovery boilers (each with a fireplace), a steam turbine, three alternators, condenser, control rooms (cabinets and motor control) and a natural gas auxiliary boiler. Burners of low Nox Other Electricity Generation Projects Carboneras- Almeria (Spain) Reduction of NOx emission, by means of the installation of burners of low NOx in the G.I. Transmission&Distribution: Construction of New Transmission and/or Distribution Lines This project lies in several actions started up to reduce the technical losses in order to improve the energy efficiency. These actions are: installation of new transmission and/or distribution lines. The system losses reductions means saving energy and, therefore, a decrease of greenhouse gas emissions. Transmission&Distribution: High-Efficiency Transformers This project involves the installation of new transformers leading up to reduce technical losses in order to improve the energy efficiency. This action reduces the electricity generation required to meet the demand. Transmission&Distribution: Reconductoring This project involves the replacement of existing conductors with large-diameter conductors that reduce line losses and improve energy efficiency. These actions reduce the amount of electricity generation required to meet the demand and consequently reduce GHG emissions.

4 Project Manager Transmission&Distribution: Upgrade Transmission and/or Distribution Line Voltage This project involves an increase of the voltage from which the various parts of the system operate to reduce line losses, reducing the amount of electricity generation required to meet the demand and, therefore, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Energy Saving Programme In Endesa s Headquarters Energy Efficiency: Energy Savings Programmes Endesas headqueraters MADRID An energy saving programme has been implemented in Endesa s headquarters (situated in Madrid) which is part of the ISO certification that was obtained in nov This programme includes a wide variety of energy efficiency measures leading to fuel/energy savings and reductions in GHG emissions, such as: utilisation of low consumption lamps and electrotechnical reactances; installation of cells with automatic switch on and switch off in areas where employees presence is intermittent: elevators, corridors, coffee room ; installation of cells which detect employees presence, in order to activate the lighting at the beginning of the working day; automatic switch off of air conditioning and lighting according to the time, and seasonal optimization of this procesa, installation of solar photovoltaic panels Paloma Mateo García, Expert in Environmental Management, paloma.mateo@endesa.es Andorra s Mine Reforestation Project CO2 capture&storage / Carbon sequestration: Reforestation Andorra, Spain Project leading to a reduction of CO2 emissions through the reforestation of the land of the former coal mine that supplied Andorras coal power plant. The project has started in 1990 and will continue in the future, by increasing the reforestation of the area.

The project has started in 1990 and the tailings were intensively active in the period From 2008, we only do maintenance and monitoring activities. Therefore, data from 2009, 2010 and 2011 are the same. Corta Ballesta, Corta Cervantes Y Mina Emma Reforestation Project CO2 capture&storage / Carbon sequestration: Reforestation Corta Ballesta, Spain Project leading to a reduction of CO2 emissions through the reforestation of the land of the former coal mine that supplied Puertollano coal power plant. The project has started in 1990 and will continue in the future, by increasing the reforestation of the area. Zero Emissions Project CO2 capture&storage / Carbon sequestration: Forest Management As Ponte Mine, Spain In 2008, Endesa started the initiative "Zero emissions project", with the aim of compensating the 100% of the CO2 emissions from the energy consumption at the headquarters in Madrid. It has been estimated that it will be necessary to make a reforestation of around 700 Ha, meaning more than trees. The reforestation will take place in a filed surrounding the As Pontes mine (not used for dumping), it is a very deteriorated land due to old forest fires and erosion. This programme will compensate the CO2 emissions, and also will help to fight climate change, making possible the growth of a sustainable a ecosystem. Since 2008, we have reforestated 163,81 Ha.

6 CO2 Absorption At Endesa s Spanish Forests CO2 capture&storage / Carbon sequestration: Forest Conservation Spain In 2005, Endesa created Bolonia Real Estate in order to bring the management model for its real estate assets in line with the Company s Sustainability Policy. Based on the success of the Bolonia Real Estate project, the Company has set up a new project, Endesa Entornos Naturales, an initiative for setting up models for developing land while improving the environment. Its aim is to ensure the creation of long-term value and local prosperity, giving priority to policies and practices leading to environmentally responsible social development. Endesa Entornos Naturales also promotes actions carried out by the Group s various business units and companies aimed at the recovery of areas of high ecological value, restoration of slagheaps, maintenance of hydraulic resources, agricultural substrates, reforestation, scientific research, and the development of low impact renewable energies. For the EWP project, several areas in Spain have been selected which add a total area of Ha, and the resulting CO2 net absorption have been reported. The area in 2010 and 2011 does not change. Hydro power plants in Latinoamerica Electricity Generation: New Generating Capacity: Renewables Latin America Endesa is present in Latinoamerica in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Peru. Endesa owns 36 hydro power plants (16 in Chile, 10 in Colombia, 7 in Peru, 2 in Argentina and 1 in Brazil), with a total installed capacity (at 31/12/2010) of MW. Hydro energy contributes to clean electricity generation. As all renewable energy projects, it contributes to a diversified and less polluting generation mix, with a greater use of autochthonous and inexhaustible energy resources, both at the company and national levels. Canela wind park Electricity Generation: New Generating Capacity: Renewables Chile Endesa Eco inaugurates Canela I in 2007, Endesa s first wind farm in Latin America. Canela I wind park has an installed capacity of 18,5 MW (11 aerogenerators of 1,65 MW each) and its annual production has been estimated at aproximately 28 GWh (December 2010). It is the first wind park connected to the Interconnected Central Grid in Chile. In 2009 Canela II, the largest wind farm in Chile, starts commercial operations whit an installed capacity of 60 MW and an annual production of 120 GWh (december 2011).

7 Rehabillitation of Callahuanca hydro power plant Electricity Generation: New Generating Capacity: Renewables Department of Lima, province of Huarochirl (Perú) The project consist of improving the hydroelectric use of the Santa Eulalia River, increasing the installed capacity of Callahuanca power station in 7,5 MW. Currently, the plan has a total installed capacity of 72,7 MW. This refurbishment will increase the plant s capacity up to 82,5 MW. Part of Calalhunca s earnings will deriver to reforestation of vulnerable-to-erosion mountain areas with autochthonous species which will allow sustainable exploitation by local communities; specific training for plant s remote control operators; and increase of taxes paid to Peruvian Government. Combined cycle power plants in Latinoamerica Latin America For this report 7 combined cycle power plants have been selected t (3 in Argentina, 2 in Chile, 1 in Brazil 1 in Peru), which represent an installed capacity of MW. Ventanilla combined cycle power plant Province of Callao The project consist of converting two open-cycle gas turbine of 160 MW each into a combined -cycle facility that adds approximately 179 MW of generating capacity to Peru s electric power grid. It will have a total installed capacity of 490 MW, generating approximately 3,863 GWh of electricity annually. It generates additional electric energy without increasing fossil fuel consumption. It transfers new technology as this project will be the first of its kind in Peru. It provides high efficiency thermal energy while reduces GHG emissions. The estimated annual emission reductions are an average of 375,051 t CO2-equivalent per year. CO2 Absorption At Huinay Forests CO2 capture&storage / Carbon sequestration: Forest Conservation Chile The San Ignacio del Huinay Foundation is a private non-profit institution that seeks to defend and preserve the bio-geographical patrimony of the Huinay area and of the Patagonian fjord region of Chile. The founding partners are Endesa Chile and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. The foundation has nearly hectares of land, dedicated to the conservation and preservation of the native and endemic flora and fauna existing in the region, among them the Huemul deer and the Alerce tree. The Foundation has a total of hectares of forest, that is, nearly 57% of the total territory. Out of these, hectares correspond to Alerce forest, a specie declared as Natural Monument in 1976 and declared as endangered in 2008.

8 CO2 Absorption At Endesa s Chilean Forests CO2 capture&storage / Carbon sequestration: Forest Conservation Chile For EWP, the main forest areas in Chilehave been selected, wich add a total area of Ha. Because of the importance that the environment has obtained in a world context, Endesa Chile has developed the "Strategic Plan for Biodiversity Conservation" This plan considers, among other things: to make a inventory and a biological characterization, to evaluate the ecological importance of these areas in order to implement management measures aimed at conserving biodiversity and to assess a protection of these areas. Technical Losses Reduction Product of The Distribution System Voltage Conversion Transmission&Distribution: Upgrade Transmission and/or Distribution Line Voltage Chile Power distribution utilities that serves high density areas, must confront rising investment feeders costs that supply its concession area. In high growing areas this situation is very important, because its needs to construct many feeders, in insufficient routes. As solution to this problem, Chilectra has converted the distribution system voltage in some areas of the distribution system, in this case to a higher voltage level, producing technical and economical benefits, especially in high density areas.
