(Tigercat) is committed to playing a leadership role in protecting the environment. The use of methanol and xylene is an integral part of the products that we manufacturer, and it is not technically or economically feasible to reduce. We will continue to use these substances in strict accordance with all applicable environmental regulations. With reference to the Ontario Toxics Reduction Act, the reduction objectives are outlined in Section 4 of this Plan Summary for the reportable substance methanol and xylene at Tigercat Plant # SUBSTANCES REQUIRING PLANS The following substances require plans: methanol, xylene, manganese, chromium, copper and nickel, based on 2011 Toxics Reduction Act accounting information. Xylene is used as a solvent for cleaning paint guns, while methanol and xylene are both contained in paint and line flush used at the facility. These materials are used in the same processes and areas. 4.0 OBJECTIVES OF THE PLAN & ANY TARGETS Tigercat prides itself on technological innovation in order to produce high quality products in an environmentally responsible manner. We will strive to optimize the use of methanol and xylene at the facility. Although no options have been identified, as part of the continuous improvement practices at the facility, technical advances will be monitored for new opportunities to reduce the use of methanol and xylene at the facility. 5.0 OPTIONS TO BE IMPLEMENTED (OR STATEMENT THAT NONE ARE TO BE IMPLEMENTED) Tigercat s commitment to continuous improvements has led to reductions in the use, release and contained in product of xylene and methanol. These improvements have included a complete redesign of the facility s paint system, which has led to less wasted material through overspray, and minimized the need for shutdowns and downtime through an automatic connection to the 2012 Pinchin Environmental Ltd. 2

6 paint drums. Furthermore, the facility has optimized its scheduling practices to further minimize these downtimes. Additionally, the facility has worked with material suppliers to select paints with lower VOC contents. While, no options have been identified at this time, the facility is committed to continue to explore with its suppliers options for reducing VOCs in line flush and cleaning solvents, and techniques in paint spraying and line flush application to further reduce Tigercat s use of these materials. The facility will also continue to explore the feasibility of dedicated paint lines for the colours sprayed at the facility which has allowed sister facilities to reduce the paint lost from line flushing, as well as the use of line flush and solvents for cleaning. 6.0 CONTENTS OF THIS PLAN SUMMARY REFLECTS PLAN This Plan Summary accurately reflects the Toxic Substance Reduction Plans dated December 14, 2012, prepared for the substances listed in Section 1.0 of this Summary Pinchin Environmental Ltd. 3
