1 Project Topic Identification Seminar conducted for 3 rd Semester M. Tech. Environmental Engineering Students in Civil Engg. Dept. at GHRCE, Nagpur Project Topic Identification Seminar was held on 3rd for M. Tech. Environmental Engineering 3 rd Semester students of Civil Engineering Department in departmental library (F-15). All students were present and presented the seminar on the coosen topic. The committee experts were Dr. P. B. Nagarnaik, Prof. M. P. Bhorkar, Prof. I. P. Khedikar, & Prof. B. J. Godboley who suggested the certain modifications & correction in the title of project. Four students are going to perform their project in the industries with good industrial exposure were performed well in the seminar.

2 Research and Recognition Committee Meeting for M. Tech. (Environmental Engineering) conducted at Civil Engg. Dept., GHRCE, Nagpur A RRC Meeting is held for M. Tech. Environemtnal Engineering at Civil Engg. Dept. at GHRCE, Nagpur on studetns presented their presentation of the proposed reseach work. During the seminar Dr. A. G. Bhole was an external expert, Dr. U. W. Wankhede, Dean R & D, Dr. P. Y. Pawade, Head of Civil Engg. Dept. and Prof. A. Thomas, Dean PG were present. Students presented their presentation in front of committee. Committee has given certain suggestions and corrections in title as well as in methodology of the proposed work to the students. Alongwith suggestions Dr. A. G. Bhole gave the fruitfull guidance to all students during seminar. Students get benefited for their work due to the committees suggestions. At the time of seminar prof. M. P. Bhorkar, M. Tech. Coordiantor (Env. Engg.), Prof. I. P. Khedikar, Prof. B. J. Godboley were also present.

E., Nagpur has organized a site visit to Water Treatment Plant under the banner of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) Department of Civil Engineering. of G. H. R. C. E., Nagpur has organized a site visit to Water Treatment Plant, MIDC, Hingna, Nagpur under the banner of Association of Consulting for Civil Engineers (India) for fifth semester (Section B) on 11th July,2015.The students were able to understand the water treatment process and it s working in the real life. All the water treatment process like initial pumping of water from Ambazari lake, aeration, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection and pumping to the ESR were explained to the students a plant Engineer Mr. Pusatkar. It was very beneficial visit for students and enhanced their knowledge regarding water treatment processes in the subject Environmental Engineering-I. 67 students were present in this visit. Head of Department Dr.P.Y.Pawade was provided the necessary guidance. The site visit is executed by Prof. Isha P.Khedikar, Prof. H.G. Sonkusare and Prof. S.C. Ambatkar Asst Prof. from Civil Engineering. Department.

5 FORUM and Professional Society Activity Committee installation in Civil Engineering Department GHRCE, Nagpur FORUM installation in Civil Engineering Department is done on (Wednesday) by the hands of Dr. P. Y. Pawade, Head of Department, Dr. B. V. Khode, Professor, Prof. M. P. Bhorkar, Forum In charge and Prof. V. K. Gajghate Forum Co-incharge at HoD Cabin, Civil Engg. Dept. Dr. P. Y. Pawade & M. P. Bhorkar congratulate the committee members and given a technical guidance regarding all activities to be conducted in this academic year All committee members are informed to carry out all the activities in very smooth and successive manner. Dr. B. V. Khode has done appeal to committee members to perform well in the forthcoming mega event, STTP on Disaster Management from 27th to 31st. Prof. V. K. Gajghate Gajghate guided them to prepare the documentation of each & every activity.

E., Nagpur has organized a site visit to Girls/Boys Hostel at Lata Mangeshkar Hospital the banner of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) Department of Civil Engineering. of G. H. R. C. E., Nagpur has organized a site visit to Girls/Boys Hostel at Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, Hingna, Nagpur under the banner of Association of Consulting for Civil Engineers (India) for fifth semester (Section B) on 24 th July,2015.The students were able to understand the basic concept of planning and designing of RCC structures. All components of building such as beam, column, plan area, recreational area, kitchen, Dining, lavatory area were explained to the students Engineer Mr. Ganorkar. Permission given for this site visit by Sachin Dhote Executive Engineer (NKP Nagpur).It was very beneficial for students and enhanced their knowledge regarding building planning and RCC structures in the subject of Building design and drawing and Structural design I 53 students were present in this visit. Head of Department Dr.P.Y.Pawade was provided the necessary guidance. The site visit is executed by Prof. H.G. Sonkusare from Civil Engineering Department.

E., Nagpur has organized a site visit to Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation, Nagpur under the banner of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) Department of Civil Engineering of G. H. R. C. E., Nagpur has organized a site visit to Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation, MIDC, Hingna, Nagpur under the banner of Association of Consulting for Civil Engineers (India) for Third semester (Section A & B) on 25 th July, 2015.The students were able to understand the process of soil treatment and soil sample collecting for test on soil by using hydraulic machine for standard Procter test. The cylindrical cores of standard volume, 13cms long and 10cms diameter, they have a sharpened edge at one end to improve penetration of the soil surface. These cores are driven fully into the surface to be tested; they are removed from the ground without disturbing the core contents. In the laboratory they are cut flush top and bottom and weighed were explained to the students by Er. Vinod Chahal site Engineer. It was very beneficial visit for students and enhanced their knowledge regarding the processes in the subject Geotechnical Engineering-I. 27 students were present in this visit. 9 Department of Civil Engineering of G. H. R. C. E., Nagpur has organized a Guest lecture on Advances in Water Treatment by Dr. A.R. Tembhurkar under the banner of Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) for Fifth Semester Students Department of Civil Engineering of G. H. R. C. E., Nagpur has organized a Guest lecture on Advances in Water Treatment under the banner of Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) on 31 th July, The invited guest speaker was Dr. A.R. Tembhurkar, HoD (Civil) Engg. Dept.,VNIT, Nagpur. It was organized under the banner of Indian Concrete Institute, student chapter.students of Fifth semester section A & B were present for the guest lecture for subject Environmental Engineering-I.Students were benefited greatly. Dr. P. Y. Pawade was instrumental in arranging the program along with Prof. Isha P. Khedikar, Prof. S.P. Abhyankar and Prof. S.C.Ambatkar faculty members of Civil Engineering Department.

10 Site visit at Metro Rail Soil Testing Project at Hingana by M. Tech. Environmental Engineering Students on M. Tech. Environmental Engineering students had visited the Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Soil Testing Project at Hingana Road, Hingna on under the banner of Association of Consulting for Civil Engineers (India). Prof. M. P. Bhorkar, Prof. V. K. Gajghate and Prof. S. D. Ghodmare had taken initiation to conduct the site visit successfully. 10 students of 3 rd Semester Env. Engg. had visited and studied the various aspects of Geo Environmental engineering. The students were very keen to know the degradation of environment due to the development of the city. The impact of construction on the surrounding soil was analyzed during the visit. The soil testing project was collecting the samples of the soil to analyze for safe construction of metro rail project. Various equipments were available at the site for the sample collection and analysis. The impacts of construction on the ground water were also explained by Er. Vinod Chahal site Engineer. Head of Department Dr. P. Y. Pawade had provided the necessary guidance.

11 Prof.C.V.R.Murthy, Director IIT Jodhpur Inaugurated 5 Day STTP at G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur A Five days Short term training Programme on Disaster Management inaugurated at the Civil Engineering Department of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur under TEQIP-II on 27 th -31 th,. Prof. C. V. R. Murty Director, Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur inaugurated the function and Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad, Ex Member, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Guest of Honour. Prof. C. V. R. Murty shared his wide experience in earthquake engineering which is important field under disaster management. He discussed impact on different structures; he also discussed the necessity of disaster management in our country. Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad shared his experience in the area of disaster management and highlighted public health initiatives for disaster management in our country. They also threw light on protective measures to be taken during earthquakes, landslides, cyclone and flood. Key note speech was delivered by Dr. C. V. R. Murty & an Expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad. Prof. C. V. R. Murty discussed the structural importance of column, foundation, design approach of any building, FSI, the common error, corrections, role of youth in nation building and professional ethics. More than 90 participants registered from all over the country for this STTP. This one week STTP was great opportunity to listen to and interact with the different experts from prestigious institutions and organizations. During 27 th - 31 th, various experts delivered trainings session on topics like Disaster, Development and Governance, Geological Disasters, Hydro Metrological Disasters, Man Made Disasters, Science and Technology, Social and Economic Issue, Disaster Response, Emergency Health Management, Emergency Issues and concerns, Media and Disaster Management, Post Disaster Recovery. Dr. Preeti Bajaj, Director of the Institute and Dr. B.V. Khode coordinator of the program informed. Dr. P. B. Nagarnaik, Deputy Director & Dean Academics; Dr. A. Y. Deshmukh, Deputy Director were also present. It is a great success and another feather in the cap for the Raisoni Group of Institutions. Dr. P.Y.Pawade H.O.D.
